Totally off-topic: not even going to comment on the review or board in this comment, but have to say I'm happy you found something to bond and grow with your son over. Father goals for sure! Have to find similar activities when my little ones are a bit older.
Oh yeah. It’s been great especially during COVID there was a time when it was all we could do to stay safe. We love riding. We just left the baseball field riding. I hope you guys find a cool activity too. Did you see our children’s book? The external antenna probably has to do with the fact that they are using the VX2 Pro for their remote. If you look online the biggest complaints against the remote is random dropouts especially during heavy urban riding. That's awesome that they took those complaints into account and made that change. Especially since i love that remote for the BKB DUO. I wonder if they made any modifications to the remote as well since during troubleshooting Flipsky advises you to add a bigger antenna to the inside of the remote.
Interesting. Thank you for sharing. Did not know about cutouts. I have thus same remote in a few boards no issues. But I do appreciate the proactive nature of the company. 🤟🤟 ride safe.
@@spyplane8 Yeah I would just take the sea shipping like I did my be Backfire. 8 weeks of waiting but give the money saved for shipping I would personally wait
Ordered the Pro version back in July. Got an email this morning that they had to upgrade the VESC based esc to a better FlipSky version. Since I got on Pre-Sale it won't cost anything but if you buy it now it'll be $100 more. They been good with customer service so far. Great review my dude!
@@kdstunts_641 freaking love it. The torque is crazy! I haven’t run the battery out yet. Went 15 miles the other day and was still at about 80%. It’s well worth it man.
Great job Mr Phillips! We are very happy you are so satisfied with what the team has come up with. Just to clarify the part about the videos. We will be launching the Propel Virtual Garage (PVG) soon. I will be hosting the videos and we plan to do 2 a month, 1 for X4s and 1 for Endeavor. These will highlight tips and tricks, frequently asked questions, things like that. Once the garage is all set up we will also be making a series of shorter, more to the point, basic service videos to be hosted in the PVG Library.
Thank you for your review, IT was realy nice but i just Hope you will do some update with accurate range of this board (220 lbs raider like me 😉). And what about battery sag? Cosue for example i have wowgo 3x ,and i m realy happy for IT,its realy good board, done almost 1000km in 6months without any big problems ,then i m realy happy but... I Heard its have almost no battery sag effect but that not true - atleast for heavy riders - 100% -80% i dont feel battery sag i could get max speed 38-39kmh(24mph), but between 80%-50% battery cap its more like 36kmh(22mph) max 70-80% of torque , 50%-30% battery cap is more close to 33 kmh(20mph) max and 60% of torque and 30%-20% of battery cap is like 31kmh(19mph) max and 50% torque power, i m not using IT when power is less then 20%... Its still realy good stats but its far from "No battery sag"... I Also like speed and my wowgo 3x its just little to slow, i could get 40kmh in Perfect condition on flat road, today i get even 44kmh ,but its was downhill, but that speed feel more like this what i counting for 😁... Do you thing heavy raider could Reach 45kmh on Propel endevour S on flat road? And if answer is yes, how IT change on diffrent battery level? I m asking couse i m realy intrested in that board , i m looking for good AT board but also fast one (couse probably most of time IT will be more urban board, but big wheels and suspension will help alot in my city) and 1000$ is my maximum budget... 🤗 😘
As a heavier rider you will never get the most out of a board. However something like this will get you moving. There are many factors that impact. Also how well you take care of your battery is important. But I will follow up. 🤟🤟
Would you suggest that Propel create some sort of handle to be able to comfortably lift one side and roll the board behind you? Other companies have done this and I've heard good things.
@@MrPhillipsTheChangeAgent and I ride hard. And have crashed many times because of it. The control im gonna have with this board is gonna have me tearing it up
Mate you said you got me when I asked about this review, you weren't lying were you!!! FANTASTIC VIDEO BRO!! you've covered everything we needed to know! Propel are game changers and most other boards have now lost the right to be called AT boards! Thanks again mate, from the UK riders👍
Do it man. You guys will have so much fun riding together. We ride everywhere we can. Just left the baseball field. He was on a bird me the EUC Did you see out book about Esk8? Another solid review! Ordered mine back in late July and cannot wait to get it! Still enjoying my Backfire Zealot to hold me over until it arrives. Thanks Lansing!
If I needed a duly rider I would say skateboard but one wheel allows you to do a little more fun stuff outside of sun riding. Don’t forget to use my links to support the channel.
My momma would've been "ro sham bo for the rent next". Really wish there was a way to test drive boards before you bought them like they were cars but y'all's videos help a lot. Much love as always.
Thank you. Every now and then I touch 30mph but to me it’s too risky to do all the time. Even when my son fell in the video he had all his gear on and his wrist guard.
Someone who wants crazy range. If about 2.0 miles is good for you this is good. If you want more get pro. If you decide on the company supper my content by using my propel link.
How does this board carve? I have an AT board with airless tires and they seem to slip out if I carve over 15miles an hour and it’s why I’m considering air tires and suspension instead.
Love your channel you remind me of me and my son hey one quick question am getting a new board and looking at the wow go at2 plus and this one witch one would you recommend
Your vids get better every time, nice work mate. What did you think about the shorter deck? I like the idea of a more portable AT board, but I feel more stable with a wider stance on my current board.
I was just thinking I wish there were more good quality Esk8 reviews to watch! I'm waiting for my backfire ranger x3 (and x2!) So I've been watching all the AT board reviews by everyone and you even have one of the best ranger x3 reviews too there's not many videos on that one. This propel board looks like an ATV four wheeler haha you're so blessed to be able to ride all these PEVs around! And those areas you ride look prestine too I would never guess that was Atlanta haha
@@MrPhillipsTheChangeAgent I did not get the fast charger, however charge time is already a non-concern. I unlocked the capability to ride around indefinitely with the beastboard viper, which you know, has super long range, in combination with a wowgo 3x which has an extra battery. The only limitation now is the strength of my feet haha and soon with the ranger x3 and the ranger x2 I'll need a homie to help deplete all of these batteries!
The best thing about his board is that its basically a big RC car with a deck. Meaning you can upgrade the battery and ESC very easily and your not locked into proprietary hardware. Im buying an Endeavor2 S and will upgrade to a VESC and better remote before I even ride it for the first time. And it can be upgraded in the future with standard electronics instead of having to be thrown away.
Man you will be in love for sure. Tell your family you will be MIA for about a week 😅😅 Great board. Hopefully you used my link and discount code to save some cheese.
@@MrPhillipsTheChangeAgent shit nah i didn’t see the video til i already ordered haha! Shoot i got the fam on electric scooters and skateboards with me! Best family fun there is 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
Two things on this board I’d look to have changed… the charging port and the antenna… it’s 2022, please put the antenna inside like and brand (even budget brands like meepo) and a more water resistant charging port cover would be awesome, cheap upgrades
With the sound, amen brother. I am surprised people don't want loud boards. It's way safer to be loud, because it's not going to ruin anyone's hearing. But you always want to be noticed. People riding an intense big board like this aren't trying to be subtle.
Shout out to you my brother never thought I would get on a skateboard me and my son is loving it thanks to you next month I plan on getting this board most definitely use your link thanks to you shalom Israel
Hey I am from ATL also and considering getting the propel endeavor s/pro. Do you know a place where I could rent / try these boards before purchase? I ride motorcycles and it is a mistake to fall in love with one before you sit on it and ride it. On paper it may be perfect but in reality it may not feel right. I am assuming this holds true for eboards as well. Thoughts??
You will like the propel S there is really nothing to dislike. Good range good power. Good value. What’s your budget what do you weigh. No there is no place to rent. Let’s ride. Check out facebook group atlanta electric riders
@@MrPhillipsTheChangeAgent I’m 6’2” 250lbs. I’ll def check the group out and come hangout / learn ab our ek8 community. I’m moving to Canada soon and my goal is daily commute on the board. I’m interested in this board bc it seems like it would be the best choice for the ground conditions I’ll encounter. Thanks 💪🏼
@@MrPhillipsTheChangeAgent anything in the endeavor s/pro price range is where I’m looking to start. If I can get my hands on one at that price, and prove to myself I will use it to commute, I could see myself expanding into more tailored boards like the x4s, Lacroix or even custom builds. I was huge into RC when I was younger and always wanted one I could ride lol
I am comparing these$1000 AT boards to a onewheel pint. Totally different experience of obviously. Really tough to figure out which one is best for me. Paralysis by analysis 🧐
I really like this board. I think it boils down to whether you want double king pin or something like this with suspension. I really find this suspension helpful for a variety of reasons. This board provides a lot of bang for the buck. 🤟🤟
I love the board and totally wish it had come out 12 months ago.. I do think the underside is ugly and let's it down but that's being picky. A head to head against the S is needed because the price difference is quite substantial I almost think they shouldn't share the same name. Why does everything have to have an S version?? 🙄👍👍
Hey Phill thanks for making us look great brother, moreover I'm a big fan I've been riding since 11 yrs old and I still ride today at 54 yrs old. I'm currently on a Own board Bamboo but can't wait for my PROPEL S4X To get here. Great Job on the book! Very excited to get it.
Hey love your channel! I am interested in your experience now 8 mos into owning this board.. I am around 210-220 geared up and am struggling between the S and pro 2. I cant justify the 1200 dollar difference. We ride a mix of trails and road with some pretty big hills that our onewheels struggle with... HELP me decide with info rather than emotion.
I weigh a little more than you. This board should have no problem. It gets me around very well. You will enjoy it. Do not forget to support by using my link.
Good review. Looks like it can handle different types of terrain. I’m curious about the materials used, components quality, quality of assembly, finishes. I know they are not the same but given your experience how does it compare to Exway, Backfire, Evolve……..
The build quality looks very good to me. Like I said in the review. I don’t know how they are producing something so solid at this price point. I am a big fan of backfire. They make good products and their customer service is good. I have never ridden an Evolve long enough to comment. As for the Exway I don’t have much to say.
Glad I found your channel bro! I ride a custom board I made using a Kaly deck all around OC! I'll actually be going to CSUF next year for my masters in engineering, glad to see more black folks riding around SoCal because so far I haven't seen anyone else lol. So if you ever see a black and blue board that looks like a Kaly flying around Fullerton, its ya boy! lmao
What up brother. I am from Cali but live in ATL I may be in Cali in the summer. Would be dope to ride. You on IG. Curious how did you find the channel?
Great vid and review. These are sic looking boards. I ordered mine on Sept. 6th…just waiting for it to ship. I also ordered the Backfire Hammer. Already have the Backfire G3. Love carving on the Esk8s. Appreciate the review and insight!!
@@MrPhillipsTheChangeAgent Thanks for the return. I have loved skateboarding for years. When I got on the first eSK8 I was hooked. I have the Backfire G3 with cloud wheels. LOVE it. I decided I wanted an AT board, so I decided on the Endeavor S. Looks sic as hell too!! I am a little more partial to normal truck boards, so I thought the Hammer would be a good addition. This way I have a street board (G3), street/AT board (Hammer), and an AT (Endeavor S) board. Plus boards for friends to ride. Crazy? Overkill? Either way, I am adding serious horsepower to my board collection...traditional and eSK8. Thanks for doing what you are with reviews. We appreciate the work.
Is the Endeavor S deck long enough for a good far-apart foot stance? Can't really tell but it looks a bit shorter in actual contact area for your feet. Love your vids, keep up the great content.
Wow this board looks awesome! Great review. Wish I waited longer for this board too appear , not long bought the eovan gts carbon which has been a great board but not without some issues and more money! This is a promising future for esk8 and this price point. I don't think there's really anything that comes close to this propel?! 👍
Honestly no board is. Personally I do t ride my boards in the wet. To me it’s just not worth spending so much money only to have it fail dude to water. Now if the ground is a little wet maybe.
I was searching for Propel S reviews and yours popped up. And it was only a few hours old! Great timing! Your review pushed me over the edge and I just ordered my S. In fact, I watched your entire review twice (which I never do). After going to the Propel site and seeing that the $999 tag was only until the end of the month, that sealed the deal. Excellent review and I immediately subscribed. I look forward to enjoying your channel. Now I just have to wait the 30-45 days with sea shipping…
@@bmrbca3658 When you visit the site, there’s a couple pop-ups that occur. I saw one banner at the top of the homepage that said the presale ends on September 30th. I received a second one on the S’s model page. The second one specifically said you’ll save $200 on the presale until September 30th and had a field to enter your email address. It makes sense and explains why they have $1,199 crossed out with $999 next to it. If you’ve visited the site more than once and closed those pop-ups, you may not see them anymore on subsequent visits.
@@bmrbca3658 Two more quick notes: In my confirmation receipt it says all orders after Sept 2nd will now be shipped in mid-November. I also had a $160 sea-shipping fee which stung a bit, but it’s still better than full price if it jumps up to $1,199.
@@MrPhillipsTheChangeAgent thanks for the response Cruising predominantly which would logically mean the endeavour because it's all terrain but I do live in the suburbs so I definitely want to feel like I can go fast at any moment. I would also not want it to die on me while I'm out
Hello, I have a question. I received my Endeavor S and the motors are quiet and sound fine when on a stand or upside down. When you put any weight on the board or even put slight pressure or drag on the motors they make a chattering sound. I have verified it is the motots making the sound and not any of the pulley system The sound was strange and loud enough that I rode it about 200m and ended up carrying the board home. I have other boards running VESC and hobbywing and they do not make sound outside of the belt whining. Even when under load the majority of sound comes from the belt and pulley.. Does anyone know Is this standard behavior with the Ling Yi ESC?
I don’t know, that does not sound like that’s a standard sound. I would have to hear it. Reach out to propel share your thoughts. I am sure they will take care of you.
Propel has looked into this. The sound is the sound of current under load. When there is a load, whether it is weight, speed or slope, it will increase the current, so the motors will increase in sound from the outer router motor. It will never be as quiet as when upside down. You’re fine.
@@mikemenard4543 Thanks. yeah I talked to them.. I have built quite a few boards and own others so the claim that's it's normal doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Out of 5 other boards running VESC and hobbywing none have ever created the same sounds no matter how high the Amperage or how hard you push them. In my opinion I would definitely buy the pro model or immediately upgrade to a VESC. You could get the same power as the pro (less range obviously) running higher amperage while still be extremely quiet motor wise. The most sound you will hear would be the belts and the knobby tires. The endeavor S I have will be will be getting swapped to a BKB zenith, focbox or Flipsky as soon as I can. I have had it for 3 days now and put about 1/4 Mike on it before it was parked. Riding side by side with my daughter on her WowGo AT 2 I had to talk really loud for her to hear me. Her board is almost silent. It is hard to even determine how much throttle you are actually applying because the sound resembles a high rpm only to realize you are going 12mph. .It was strange enough for me to immediately start looking for something loose, belts to tight or bearing out somewhere then ended up sending Propel a video. It isn't the sound traditional electric motors running in FOC or even BLDC that I have ever experienced. If I have to guess the timing is advanced to far within the software version on the Ling Yi ESC. Maybe Propel will start using the new ling YI ESC that is called the FY-FOC which should immediately eliminate the sound. It's hard to ride freely and enjoy the ride having such a strange noise. This is obviously my opinion. The board looks beautiful the fit and finish is extremely good. I was so excited to ride it but that smooth acceleration that comes along with all electric boards is counteract by the motor noise.
@@MrPhillipsTheChangeAgent like on the tight turns I can't make I got to stop and move the board then hope back on yo continue lol I'm to used to double kingpin trucks lol
Did you ever have problems with it coming on because I charged mine like regular and woke up tried to go for a ride and it won't come on and I don't understand why
Hey there. They sent me the board so I really don’t know about shipping times. Their customer service seems to be on point. Shoot them an email or contact them on IG or facebook. 🤟🤟🤟
Love this video and love how much fun you’re having with the family. Would you suggest this or the Backfire Ranger for a city riding/commuting board? I’m trying to decide between the two
I like them both but they are different boards. They really have nothing in common besides the large wheels. What’s most important to you as far as speed, range….
They both have the speed and range I would need realistically in the city. I’m wondering more in terms of handling I think? Does one suit itself more to busy streets, lots of vehicles and dodging pedestrians?
@@TravisStatonMarrero I would say they both do well. I think the suspension on this board is game changing. But I I also love the low maintenance of the Ranger too. Have you looked at backfires Hammer board?
@@MrPhillipsTheChangeAgent I have! It’s also on the list. But that makes sense. This board really seems to tick a lot of boxes, but I’ve also never tried dkp trucks, and while I currently long board to get around I’m starting to think the stability in the endeavor is a safer bet for city riding than the carvy backfire boards
