Get view. I love the bridge. Great info as well. I'm going to be working on speed this year so power and efficiency are going to be big for me. I appreciate it!
Trying so hard to concentrate but the beautiful scenery and the cute poochie I can't 😂. What kind of pup is she btw?! I had a male dog exactly like her but we never knew what his breed was lol. I guessed a shepherd or Malinois.
She is a shepherd mix, with a mix of other breeds...pit, rott, chow and irish setter. We did a DNA test, which you always take with a grain of salt, but she is a sweet baby.
Thanks for the video, I get a lot of tight hips due to getting older and doing martial arts which means larger leg muscles which tend to tighten up easier. That last exercise - the couch stretch WAS AWESOME. I've seen something similar when I used to do ashtanga yoga, this looks great, never seen it before and it's now something I will incorporate into stretching!
Hey! Thank you so much for your work and for your films. Im running only few months but (becouse of you) i feel that I know how to start and maybe one day i ll run a marathon :-) and i run with my dog too ;-) Thank you!
Helpful exercises though I believe quite challenging if you do them for the first time, I feel I need to get this done well and often to help me progress further with my running, thanks and keep-up the good work.
I run mid to forefoot, but getting shin splints on one leg, is that due to tight hip and glute because my femur is in external rotation?i suspect that because of this, one foot supinates. I can imagine the foot forcing to land like the other through over correction causes a whole slew of problems. I’m doing pigeons and using lacrosse ball to the itband and peroformis and using your other videos remove the pelvic anterior tilt. am i on the right track?
How often do you stretch your hip in a week? I am busy to do stretch every day and I would like to know minimum days in a week that make body change. I noticed its important to stretch hip recently and this video is interesting!
Good question! Check this out: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-24wYmdlzNAk.html While it's created around injury, we offer lots of tips and techniques for strengthening.
My son is an 8th grade athlete that is very much struggling with form and technique in their normal running stride and sprinting. I am NOT a runner and have been trying to study up. Are there any resources that you know of where I could send video of his stride and get some help?
Hi Travis! Great question and your son is not alone! Getting him to do strength specifically in the core is where I would start if I was working with him. I would also analyze his posture and strength through his ranges of motion (i.e. squat depth and core strength holding a plank or hollow hold). As long as he doesn't have anything going on structurly in his skeletal system, he can straighten out using core strength, single leg/arm strength, and run form drills. They do have virtual form views with some coaches. The first place that comes to mind is Perform 4 Life. Coach Morgan worked with them directly: www.performforlifesf.com/ - Coach Liz
All your vids are super helpful. As a thought..., I always imagine that my legs are my arms..., so that I am running on my arms. My special awareness is more with the arms vs legs. And in that way..., I have a better sense of how my legs are moving and where my foot lands and how all the pendulum movements works best
Hey Humans :) When doing strides like you did, my pace increases obviously, but how long it too long to be running like that? I spent about a km at it last night, could have gone longer but wanted to see how I felt in the a.m., and my legs are fine :) Love the couch stretch BTW :)
Strides are awesome as a drill/warm up. Definitely wouldn't run that way for longer than a mile at a time though. You could run normally (adjusting stride based on down/up/flat) and then throw some strides in every 10 min or so?
The quality of your earlier videos is way better. Other than Elizabeth's videos, a lot of the content of your recent videos are essentially the same. Hip circles, leg swings, couch stretch... I know these routines are important but is there anything new?
Haha - there's *always* new stuff and we are excited to show you guys even more this 2018. We do deliberately highlight certain movements because we want to inspire runners on the power of these exercises - and we're always getting new subscribers all the time who haven't seen our previous videos. As our audience grows and learns with us so will we be ready to share what that next level looks like. Thanks for watching and tuning in. We appreciate it!
Hey! I was not regular runner and for a special purpose I started running 5k since 2 months. I have severe pain just back of Shin bone and in achilles tendon. I can’t rest as I have to run 5k in 25 minutes in Physical test next month. So How Often I should run? What should my weekly plan for rest and distance! Plz Help me with this.
This is really helpful! definitely gonna try these out because I over stride in the front really bad and I think it's the reason i have so much leg pain.. any tips on how to actually make the change to foot strike under your hips and open up the stride behind the body as opposed to in front? I know how the form is supposed to look, I just find it really hard to actually make the change while im running
Definitely would suggest you shorten your stride. Between that and increasing your mobility work throughout the week to help open up your hips, you'll find it much easier to increase your stride, though there is nothing wrong with a short stride (especially going up hills)!
I love that your dog is in the videos a lot more now. Have you considered a handful of videos on how to run with your dog (Pooch 2 5k, gear to have for your dog on runs, etc)?
