Men you need more views, your info is spot on. Just recently my mothers dryer stopped pushing hot air and with your videos I discovered the previous owner bypassed the thermal fuse, so now the high limit and the heat element thermostat were toasted instead of just a cheap little fuse, ended up replacing everything just to be safe and cleaning the ventilation tubes.

@barrygrant2907 3 года назад
That's the part he removed from the back. The entire duct comes out in one piece. Two screws at the top where the lint screen slides in and 3-4 at the bottom. there will also be globs of lint behind the blower fan, which needs to be scrubbed with a small brush (toothbrush) and the outlet duct can be cleaned out by hand. What he didn't bother to show was all the lint inside the dryer body than builds up. Takes about 15 minutes to pop the top up and remove the front for a thorough cleaning.

Informative video, My Maytag bravo XL dryer is not catching lint in the lint catcher. Only one inch of the very bottom of the catcher traps lint on it. If I take it apart like in your video I will I most likely find it clog up and will just need cleaning or more likely it has a bigger issues. When I removed the vent pipe from the dry to the wall it had a cup of water in the line. Thanks
@LeanOnYourRep
@LeanOnYourRep 3 года назад
If you have water in your line, most likely your dryer vents through the roof and the screen on the roof vent is blocked causing the moisture to trickle back down. If this is a case you're going to have to go into the attic and disassemble the pipe you'll just need aluminum tape for when you put it back together. No need to climb on the roof

I have this same dryer at home matched with the centinial direct drive washer. I love this set I don't plan on getting ride of them until they stop working. Last year the dryer stopped working the temp thermostat failed The dryer alway had as slight chirp when running so while we had it out I tool it apart and cleaned it of lint and changed the belt tensioner and the belt chirp sound is gone. I didn't notice any improvement in drying speed but the dryer want clogged up just had lint laying in the chassi. The dryer has always dried well up till it stopped heating properly. Now I have a steam dryer at work that's mine also that one was pretty clogged up the main vent line was clear though.

Question: what would cause water to condense in the vent hose? I just took apart my whirlpool dryer (front and back) to clean out all the lint. I cleaned out the vent hose and the vent to the outside. some of the lint trapped in the vent hose was wet (not just damp, but you could wring water from it). I rinsed it out, cleaned it thoroughly and hung it up to dry. Then I reattached it to the dryer and the outside vent and ran the empty dryer on high for an hour and an no heat tumble for 30 minutes, alternating that 3 times. It then sat overnight. I thought it would be bone dry the next day, but when I uncoupled it from the dryer, there was about 1/2-1 cup of water in the hose and dripping out of the dryer vent in the back. This was an empty dryer!! What on earth caused this??? Is it just latent humidity from the air it's sucking in? Is there a way to prevent this? If it's happening regularly, no wonder my dryer gets stopped up so frequently.

I don't know if you can stop it, but if you go to a big box store like Menards or Home Depot, look for a dryer lint brush set. They are specifically designed to go down in the that chute and cling to the lint so you can pull it back out. Also, you can clean out your exhaust tubes. Works great and they aren't too expensive.
@savannahtraderful

The exhaust vent hose is short with mine so if I pull the screen out and run the dryer any loose lint blows through and goes outside clearing the vent.

@MsLizRich
@MsLizRich Год назад
Lint doesn’t always get caught on the lint trap screen. Some goes around the screen and builds up in that compartment where the lint screen fits. As the lint trap goes in & out when you clean the screen, bits of loose lint get jammed in the bottom and it prevents the lint screen from fitting all the way in. If you have a vacuum cleaner with a hose, you can use the skinny vacuum attachment or even a flattened cardboard tube (from empty roll of paper towels) to extend your vacuum’s hose and reach the bottom of that compartment. You might have to duct tape the cardboard tube onto your vacuum’s hose to get a good seal. Once you vacuum the lint out of the compartment, the lint screen should fit much better. You’re also preventing a possible lint fire inside your dryer, so Good Job!!! FYI - check the lint you removed for coins, paper money, buttons, earrings, etc - anything that could have been forgotten in clothes pockets. If vacuuming the lint out doesn’t work, you may have to remove the screws that hold the front of the dryer on. There are other videos here on RU-vid that show you how.

Yes eventually it will start a capillary action, something may be bent on your dryer allowing the lint to go past the filter

My dryer began to shrink our clothes. We have always and still wash our clothes with cold water, don’t overload it, same soap, same dryer sheets, same drying temperature. I clean out the lint after every dry but still it remains to shrink our clothes. We have had this dryer for over a year and a half and suddenly it began to do this. Could you give me advice onto why this may be please?

That's very strange, even though you got the water set on cold have you touched the water verifying that it's actually cold? Could be hooked up wrong or water valves malfunctioning

@@LeanOnYourRep Yes I touched the water after pausing it to see how it felt and it was cold. I took the back of the dryer off right now and checked the lint and it was clear. Need to find the detector tomorrow.

Hi really loved your video it helped me out a lot just wondering when putting back does it need some kind of seals around around the vent on the drying because as I took the vent some came off and now I’m a little worried it needs something there thank you
