That’s a positive pressure system you will have some false positives on the float type switch for the drain. Needs a 90 and about 6” of pvc to prevent the airflow from lifting the float.
The mechanical inspector in my state would red tag this install. No insulation on the drain line. Air handler needs to be hanged with chain and angle iron not sitting on blocks. Secondary pan needs to be secured to attic floor.
Why didn’t you hang the unit? No armaflex on the primary drain? Why didn’t you run the t-stat wire with the lineset? Why no greenfield from the disconnect to the unit?
Not required by the electrical code. Also a decked attic is allowed( in Florida) to sit on the decking in a secondary pan. The pan is required to be strapped in place.
@@hvacmike1175 I don’t know what part of Florida you live in, but here in the Bay Area that shit would be red tagged in a heart beat. My first year apprentice can do a better job.
Insulate the drain line ! Unit in hot wet attic RU kidding me, water temp 42-48 deg and sweating. Most folks would not know until their insulation is soaked and drywall ruined.
Still to work on so many details.. Never lock to pan, better off to hang the air handler, when that pan needs to be replaced, you will be bitched at Always install a p-trap to avoid negative air pressure It would look much professional if a plenum to be installed Always best to insulate the the first 6 feet of the main condensate when in an attic install. Still needs improvement.
Hey Joe! I have this unit. The install is no where near as nice as yours. I noticed there is a ton of air escaping from the access panel (with the red Trane logo on it). Is that normal?
