Part 2 of many, detailing the restoration / renovation of our abandoned village in Central Portugal. Featured in Channel 4 Help! We bought a village. Check out our website: chumbaria.com/ Architects: arquitecturavi...
Inspirational videos, we brought a little cottage near Alvaiazere 2020 more as a holiday home, we love Portugal and its people, realise now we need to jump with both feet in and make the move permanent with permaculture x
Very impressed with you taking on creating videos! That is daunting, but you two seem to embrace daunting tasks and skills. Love how the windows are adding light and views to your beautiful place.
Many thanks, we're so new to creating videos, it takes forever to put them together. Hopefully we'll just keep getting better. We love the windows, but I still don't know how I'm supposed to clean the top ones!
I love your project. The videographie is great too. The builders are real craftsmen and extremely hardworkers!! As an aside, we had a construction company for many years. It is appropriate for periodic builder consultations but wow, knowing someone is commenting on non-construction related things and interacting directly with workers is off the hook. All communications must go through one person on site. The guys may be smiling for the camera... but... The "Portuguese guy" is right by the way. Please don't ruin your show. Take close to heed what your builder said, " It may be your home but it's his 'house'." Don't lose him, he's the only one telling the truth. If he leaves your project is done. That said, the project is fantastic.❤
Many thanks for your positive comments. We are very lucky to have such talented local tradesmen and fantastic architects. Our humour is a bit off the wall, but Nelson the main builder is our project manager and in charge of everything on site and Joana and Rui Pedro our architects oversee everything, every step of the way. To find such professional people, with such a good sense of humour is definitely an added bonus. We really appreciate all of them and agree with you, this is a fantastic project and we are very proud of all that we have achieved.
A few spots I couldn't hear what you were saying and the background music didn't help ...I do enjoy your project and your skilled workmen are hardworking for sure. Looking forward to your next. Ken from Indiana 🇺🇸
Hi there, thanks for your positive comments, we're new to this and still working out our way with sound and voice overs, not helped by the fact the building work is really noisy at the moment. Hopefully as we get more used to the software, our videos will get better and sound won't be such an issue. Yes we have some very skilled workmen, who definitely work very hard, we're very lucky. Good to know you'll keep watching, it's much appreciated.
Great videos and a stunning location. We have just sent out for estimates for work on our house near Mortagua . Used a great architect and very happy with everything so far . Keep recording and inspiring others
If you weren’t happy and didn’t work well together, you would have not taken this project on. So…onward and safety to all that work on the projects. 👍😁
Thanks for your comment, we work really well together and this project has made our relationship stronger in many different ways. Our sense of humour is a bit off the wall and we really liked the comment 'good luck with that wife'. Definitely onwards and upwards at Chumbaria.
Many thanks for your comment, our aim was to turn the village into an eco-retreat and learning centre, but by the time we finish it may have to be a retirement community! Maybe one day some of the houses will be for sale, glad you like our videos, really appreciate it
@chumbaria7159 I would LOVE to live there. I am 67 y.o. , will retire on August 31, my last day, sell my home and move to Portugal. Just wondering where to find a retirement community. I will be your first buyer, for sure! I love the location.!! 💕❣️💗
I think what this person is trying to say is the audio levels could be mixed better--it was hard to hear the narration over the backing tracks at times
Thanks for pointing that out, we're really new to this video thing and haven't quite worked out the sound levels, not helped by the builders being particularly noisy at the moment. We'll keep learning and hopefully we'll get it right at some point. Appreciate your comment
