the East African Unification should definitly tell DR Congo and South Sudan to wait while the 5 Swahili-Influenced nations unify around that common identity first and build a functional state. Bro you are so misguided in this thought process holy shit why the FUCK would that be a good idea? New Zealand was so insulted they weren't invited to Australian Federation they just declared independence. The plan was always to include them but they left them out & they never united. @@shonenjumpmagneto Because it's nicer than just saying, "South Sudan and DRC, you crazy, we want to get better, not worse." It doesn't help the federation to have those countries join. It's already hard enough without trying to add some failed states.

As a Costa Rican, I can say with certainty that we would not support a union with the rest of Central America. We share different values and we have made changes to our constitution that would not be compatible with the rest of the region. For example, we abolished the army back in 1949 while the rest of CA boast large army expenditure, which they need to combat gang related violence (or in Nicaragua's case, to use as pawns in the dictator's leadership) Also, we have a strong democracy, a very high level of freedom of press (#7 in the world) and progressive views, things that the rest of the region lag behind in. I would say Costa Ricans would be okay with joining with Panama, (no army, strong economy, etc) but not the rest of CA.

imo, the basic issue with the EAF and a potential Central Asian union is that, while it’s easy for democratic governments to join together (just do democracy on a larger scale!), it’s really hard for countries ruled by a single party or person to combine - Tanzania has a single ultra-dominant party that has ruled since independence, Museveni and Kagame rule in Uganda and Rwanda like pseudo-dictators, so what happens to them, do they just give up power to a democratic state? Unlikely to say the least.

The political construct that is Belgium has no future as it is now. I think a major thing to consider is that some countries may not want to join with another country or countries whose economic situation and infrastructure are not at the same level as theirs. Often countries make an effort to extend the same services and infrastructure to all people and area. This would place a huge burden on the people (who would have a lower average income than the wealthier nation had on it's own before). This could lead to a lot of resentment and discontent. Of course the people from the disadvantaged countries will likely benefit from stable, less corrupt governments (assuming that's what happens) and eventually their economies will become more even, but I think this can take a while and I'm not sure a new unified country is likely to withstand the tension. And that's not getting into the cultural differences.

I doubt the Central American Union would be a good deal for Panama and Costa Rica. They're just too far ahead of the others. No front btw, I love all of Central America and believe in its great future, but right now there's clearly a difference. As a German who chose to relocate to Panama, I can also say: be careful when building a Union or Federation... the European Union isn't as shiny as many people see it, and it won't last long anymore. Right now it's about to bring all of Europe into a blackout situation... 🤣

I don't think a global energy, food and supply crisis is the fault of the EU. If anything the EU has been far stronger against the Russians than I'd expected. Bills will be higher, sure. But no blackouts, mate.
@unternehmensrechtaktuell2596
@@Emanon... The energy crisis in Europe wasn't primarily caused by the EU, but by Germany (forbidding nuclear energy because why not). Thanks to the united European electricity net, Germany's faults are putting all of Europe at a risk. But I'm talking also about total surveillance in the EU (chat control from 2025, transfer of fund control) and about the fact that the Central Bank won't be able to stop inflation because that would leave half of European governments bankrupt.

Until recently Belarus was essentially an outlying territory of the Russian Federation. However, the disputed 2020 election seems to have created a broad Belarusian identity across society - Lukashenko has inadvertently succeeded in creating a national consciousness, something Belarusian nationalists have generally failed to do. Now I think a merger with Russia would have to be forced by Russia. As for the Turks and Caicos Islands, I recall reading that support for merging with Canada was fairly high in the 1970s and 80s, but has dropped as economic conditions have improved. The Canadian government has been pretty much silent on the issue, but in 2004 the provincial legislature of Nova Scotia approved a motion to let T&C join their province if they wished, to avoid Canada having to amend its constitution to allow for the creation of another province.

Cyprus has been under the ottoman rule for many years, if it is to be connected somewhere, it can be connected to Turkey, but even Turkey does not want this, I think it would be funny if Greece could claim such a thing. (in history : the island was ruled by Italians, United Kingdom, Ottomans and Crusaders, but not Orthodoxs. Of course, there is an orthodox administration on the island now, but there is a Turkish administration too, also there are British lands and military bases from the British administration period too.) Cyprus is not a place that has historical integrity, so i am sure there will be more than one unhappy country wherever it will be connected. (especially England-Turkey-Greece, these three countries will not accept the connection of the island to another country)

What I would like to point out is that the current situation in Cyprus is not made by Cypriots but created by foreign countries, and other countries are still threatening and blackmailing each other through Cyprus.Cyprus can be a very beautiful place when all the people on the island are brought together in humane conditions and all other countries are should pushed off the island.

@@user-wx8gt4ol7w The main problem is that there are 3 countries (Turkiye/Greece/UK) that. not see the island as a small self-reliant country, while there are arms dealer profiteering countries that are happy with the problems that will lead to war in the region.(USA/France/Russia). Unless this situation changes, there will be no peace on the island and in our region. countries will continue to see Greece and Turkey as their slaves to whom they will constantly sell their weapons.

@@TheHakanBrgl Cyprus is too much burden for Turkey. Why? The corruption in that Turkish side of country is beyond imagination. They still have primal way of thinking over there. If you know somebody you can get hired at some place even without 0 capabilities to work. Same goes to other way around if you don't have relatives or connections you are doomed to fail. The politicians are complete joke. Turkey sends millions of dollars constantly under the banner of helping there to make roads, brıdges, utility things etc. They take the large amount of the money for their pockets and corruptions and do little thing about Cyprus. Turkey knows it but can't do much at all. As long as they support Turkey's politics Turkey fine with that. Even Erdogan said to Turkish Cypriots something shouldn't have said openly " the only interest we have on you the strategic position of Cyprus" Unification of both sides are impossible. The reason is both sides think themselves either Greek or Turkish rather than Cypriot
