I am one of the users that has nothing but praise for Proraso shave cream. For times when I am in a bit of a hurry I use the tubs where they are great for convenience. However, when I have a bit more time, I use the tubes of cream where I can go to town with my Parker brush and my Shave Nation stainless bowl. It creates plenty of mounds of rich beautiful cream. The lather lasts and protects through three passes. Attention: Nick Shaves..... You should try the Proraso Sensitive Skin cream as it does add a bit more protection.

I have tried over 20 soaps and creams, artisan and mass production, this is the most thick and skin protecting lather. After passing with my r89, I can still fill it there.

I started by using this stuff and kind of hated it. I used it for about 9 months and went through half of a tube. I went to wal mart two weeks ago and found a puck of Van der Hagen mug soap and switched to that. I absolutely love it. I’m 16 btw

I know! The TOBS sandalwood is incredible - that was my first premium shave soap and is my wife's favorite scent. Way better than the Proraso in my opinion

I have sensitive skin and a cream that always satisfies is the green proraso. You can really feel the tingling when you lather it on and it feels ultra clean and fresh. Its got a great scent, not like these perfume style scents. Yes Im talking about the T.O.B.S sandalwood. I just bought it thinking it would be very high end. But knew instantly the perfumey smell was not for me. For anybody put there thinking of tobs sandalwood and expecting a lush,rich,smooth scent, it is not that. It is incredibly perfumey and is not the best if you have sensitive skin. I now know which cream is for me, and its proraso all the way. Fantastic cream and excellent fresh subtle scent

Hey Duke, have you tried Nivea sensitive shaving cream? If yes, how does it compare to green Proraso?
@rsg9248
@rsg9248 4 года назад
Proraso cream shave works best when applied directly with the fingers - no brush, just like most shave creams, as opposed to soaps. Proraso provides unbelievable slickness and a great shave. Apply it with a brush, and it gets thin and slickness disappears. Only shave soaps get better with a brush..

I heard so much good about proraso when I started wet shaving a year ago, I bought one of each to try them out. Now I'm mostly using them for superlather. The blue is nice on its own though

The thickest lather I have ever used is RazoRock. The slickest go to Synergy and Mike's Natural. In my experience, the Synergy and Mike's have better post-shave properties than RR. Thanks for posting!

Hi Nick, between my creams there is also this Proraso, but sincerely I don't perceive the scent of sandalwood. However my favorite fragrances are almond and coconut.

If you used a little oil on your face before the shave you might not have had as much discomfort on the second time to clean things up. I usually use Cade by l'Occitaine or Lavender Oil by The Art of Shaving. Seems to work really well for me.

It was my first cream. I liked the smell, and I do still use it occasionally but I find just using a moisturizer afterwards alleviates it, specifically this st ives one that's dirt cheap on amazon (not necessarily 'mens' one but who cares), just an extra application of it makes it alright to use it every once in a while

Nice review, i love the Proraso green, I'll have to give this a shot next. Any chance you will do a review on the Mystic River soaps or Honeybee soaps? I heard good things about honeybee but mixed on Mystic River mostly on it's difficulty to lather. Just curious what you thought of them.

Hi Bud, I have had great luck and enjoyment like you with The Proraso Eucalyptus and Menthol, tub soap specifically. But in regards to Mystic Water, I have wonderful results with the Sensitive Skin but as you mention, it was after a few different ways to attempt lather. Nick, if I can suggest starting with less water in the brush and some to start on the soap. Soap in hand will work but I have been happy to see how I can load the brush inside of a cup and press it into itself. Best to both! :)

It's cheap and has established branding, which contributes to the mass appeal. Proraso shaving cream is good enough, but there are better and nicer creams out there which means I don't purchase it. I am happy to spend a little extra on a product which performs a little better.

I bought the tub version of this soap. DO NOT BUY THIS SOAP OR CREAM IF YOU HAVE SENSITIVE SKIN. It's a very thirsty type of soap which means you can't use any preshave products including their stuff because it absorbs it. Within 10 minutes of using this soap, I had a really bad rash and couldn't shave for a week. Proraso also tends to dry out the skin and it's not very slick either. In terms of building lather it does extremely well.
@watches_and_blades
@watches_and_blades 10 лет назад
I use Proraso pre shave for sensitive skin (white line) before every shave, regardless of the type of cream. This is a cream for tough beards.
@knightmare1015
@knightmare1015 10 лет назад
Bayerbiker The green pre-shave is what and all that I use now as far as Proraso goes. Before they re-formulated everything, Proraso used to be top notch, now they're not.
@watches_and_blades
@watches_and_blades 10 лет назад
I agree, but I used the green line just one time because I don't like the excessive cold feeling on my face. Proraso "suggest" the white line specifically for sensitive skin.
@knightmare1015
@knightmare1015 10 лет назад
Bayerbiker I mainly use it as an aftershave cream to calm the burning down if I have any. I've pretty much been using artisan made soaps these days instead of the main stream stuff. My personal favorite is HTGAM's chocolate bourbon. It reminds me of chocolate cake batter that was mixed with an electric mixer. It's insanly slick, has plenty of cushion and it's also a lather monster. Here's the link to that online store: howtogrowamoustachestore.com/
