I recommend an Arko soap stick, inexpensive brush and face lathering. I use one of those inexpensive light colored wood handle (with the gold trim) synthetic brushes and it works great. I have many name brand brushes too, but use the inexpensive brush. Everybody's face is different, I respect that. If you want a good alternative to foam without using a brush...try Cremo, if you haven't already.
So, when all's said and done, I did still get a decently close shave out of the Proraso foam... I just didn't enjoy the experience. So, should that matter? I think it should, especially since a can of Proraso costs more than a can of Nivea gel (at least where I live)... but what do you think?
@@hassyg4083 When a pre shave is used with soap or cream it offers far greater slickness for a shave. Gel does a good job but would not match that. The issue with cartridge razors is the blades have to great a gap when compared to safety razors.
