In this video I will explain in details the Maps+more app from Volkswagen. This app is designed to work on UP! and e-UP! models made by Volkswagen (It should work with Seat Mii electric or Skoda Citigo iv). I am going in details how to connect the app to the car, what features if have and what I think needs to be improved.

The maximum size that can fit in the holder is 5.5 inch in diameter (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NlHJ5njWVFE.html).

When you set departure time, and AC, how can you set up which temperature you want it to heat up?

Is there an older Version of this app that runs on Android 4.1? I found an .apk version 1.0.0 on apkpure but it refused to install on my old phone. I would like to have the old phone permanently in the car.

Does this work with the old E-up (that came with Navigon/Garmin)? The local dealer claims that it works with ALL e-up cars, but I couldn't figure out how to activate bluetooth sync.

I wonder about this to. Is Maps + more compatible with E-up! 2014? Or perhaps possible to hack? I know Maps + more was invented back then and used on gasoline versions, but perhaps not possible to use for controlling charge and preheating. Somebody know this?

@@MegaShap Maps+ more on older cars = The device on the dash, preheat etc is possible also on EV. The Maps+ More app is exclusive to newer cars that only has a phone holder on the dash. The original E-Up does not have Bluetooth on the head unit, but only on the Garmin/Navigon device on top.

Can you see things remotely from you phone? Like is it charging and set remotely heating/aircon on?

Not with this app. It need a Bluetooth connection to the car in order to operate. I am researching an app called We Connect that should be able to give me this options. I will make a video if I manage to make it work.

@@tedonash2681 I am looking for the same. We finally received our Seat Mii elec. after 6 months delay due to Corona. Instruction manual says it should be possible to set temp out of your home, but app does not support, needs connection with the car.

@@jeroencoesmans9353 you can do it with this app ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-b25pRtiNNPc.html on the e-up as long as you have the remote module installed. For the Seat I think the app have a different name but the functionality should be the same.

Mine does not limit charging. Ive tried two phones, stand and charging location.

Your new 2020 e-up has 12 months of free We Connect included? If so, can you rate the We Connect app Soon? You might have to tell your dealer to tell VW to activate the sim card first. I had to, and it took 2 Days.

It really depends from which country you are. For mine they didn't support it and I had to fight them back to include it in my car. As far as I know I was the only one having We Connection in VW e-up in Bulgaria. I also had to wait 3 working days the SIM card to be activated.

@@tedonash2681 once the simcard is activated you can also download the weconnectID. It has not many features for E-up, because its made for the ID family, but it loads and reacts faster and it has a build in map with chargers. Setting remote clima control is very fast in the ID app compared to the regular WC

Does the app work on Skoda Citigo iv as well?

I don't think so. I haven't tested it on Skoda Citigo IV but on the app description it says that it works on Volkswagen UP!

Skodat citigo has its own ap, but works the same.

K SKI no. I was trying to reverse engineer the Bluetooth communication bot this requires a lot of time and I left this project for later

The minimum charge is ud you plug IT in and IT only has 5% left, IT Will charge immidiatly to the min level (lets say 30%) and then the when schedual tells IT to. That watt battery wont be left at 5% and risk Damage battery ud next schedual is long time in the future. I have mine set at 30% but you can set it at 20% also and IT Will Make sure battery is not damaged by bring left with low charge for a Long time or until next charge cycle

if you want to use this application on a 7-8 inch tablet device, from the playstore the device will most likely not be compatible and download and installation will not be possible, however it is possible to solve the problem using APKPure.
