Lived in Central Mass and Cape Cod. Moved to Georgia and the culture shock was and is mind blowing. I miss Massachusetts a lot, but being retired, it's out of the question. Our son still lives there and he says the cost of living is out of sight. Your video told it like it is!
I grew up in Mass., moved to Las Vegas in 1993 and would never go back. I suffered from seasonal depression, Nov thru March was rough. I do miss the month of October but that's about it. Nevada has no state income tax, no excise tax and my solar panels cover my entire power bill. 50 inches of rain in Mass vs 3 inches here. My kids play year round baseball, no potholes, and a 109 degree July day beats a crappy Mass winter day every time. A few 4 hour drives to Southern Cal each year for beach and culture is all I need. Just my 2 cents
I grew in Boston but live in Philadelphia where housing is about a quarter of the price but in 2021 Philly had 562 murders and Boston had 39. Boston is also way cleaner.
Yeah I moved to NC a year and a half ago, and while I miss family, I feel like MA doesn't really have much going for it tbh when you compare it to other places. The weather sucks, its absurdly expensive, there's insane traffic, the bars/clubs in the city close super early, etc..
I hear hate about the winter and yes it touch but as a kid i always did enjoy it though. U can have a ton of fun and yes i did have too shovel and salt lol😂
MA is not perfect, but it’s one of the best states to live in if you care about safety (low crime rate except for the ghettos, mild politics, no major natural disasters), education, healthcare, jobs, and the variety of food choices (lots of restaurants and grocery stores).
I disagree that MA has more PROS than CONS. The only reason people live in MA or visit MA is if they have natural family here. Otherwise, I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.
