If you are new to our channel, HELLO! Thanks for watching our video.
We are Renata, Josh, and Gaia a Kiwi/English family, living in Auckland, New Zealand. Josh and I have always had a love for travel, and we did a lot of travelling together before having Gaia in 2020 (when the world shut down for a bit).
With our borders being closed for the past two years, we haven't travelled with Gaia as much as we imagined, so in May 2022 we quit our jobs to pursuit our dream of full time travel with our toddler. It is only a few days now until we are getting on our first long haul (10.5 hour) flight to start that adventure.
If you'd like to hear more about our plans, you can check out these two videos:
Quitting Our Jobs: • QUITTING OUR JOBS TO T...
Preparing for full time travel: • Preparing for FULL TIM...
Josh & I are both probably a bit biased towards New Zealand, as we absolutely love this country, and feel very lucky to live here. We know that not all kiwi's have the same experience of living in New Zealand, and this is just our personal opinion on what the big pros and cons are.
We hope that you enjoy this video anyway, and that it shares some insight on what living in NZ is really like. If you do enjoy it, please make sure you click the SUBSCRIBE button, and give this video a thumbs up so we know what kind of videos to make in future.

Stocks extended their year-to-date rally following the CPI report, with the S&P 500 last up 0.8% in afternoon trading. but I don't know if stocks will quickly rebound for a few weeks, .I am under pressure to grow my reserve of $250k.

Concentrate on two main objectives. First, keep yourself safe by knowing when to sell stocks in order to limit losses and maximize gains. Second, get ready to benefit from market changes. I advise consulting a professional for advice.

Nice vidéo ! It will help me thank you ! I hear everywhere that Auckland is expensive but thanks to your vidéos, I can see price are quite similar to France. It depends of the product. I am looking on 2 supermarkets online shop in Paris and we have - cucumber : 2.13 $ or 1.69$ for 1 cucumber - "paris " mushroom : 6$ or 7.45$ / kg - tomatoes : 4.25$/kg (here tomatoes are quite cheap because we have a lot) - avocato : 2.70$ each or 1.60$ each or 4.25$ for 2 - sweet potatoe : 3.10 $ or 2.77$/ kg - diesel : 1.92$ - gazoline : 2.05$ - soja milk : 1$ to 3$ for 1L - 3 bedrooms (F4) : average 2650$/month for around 80/90m² Minimal salary in France : 1450$ In Paris, salary can be a litlle better if you have a good job but not everyone has one ^^ so a lot of people live in tiny appartment or studios. Thank you so much for your details because now, I can see that it is a possible destination ! The only thing I wouln't like there, is the wind ^^ ahahah Thank you and enjoy your time there :)

Lived there for 14 months, it is not safe, lot of crime, lot of poverty, living is extremely expensive. The houses are really really bad, the roads are the most dangerous in the world. The cities are horrible. The nature is really beautiful but anything else is depressing. There is no work and the work that is there pays really bad, you can not make a living. I am back in the Netherlands now, were I get paid 4 times the money and houses are half the price and way way better build, way safer, way better way of live. New Zealand you were a big disappointment.

Its not "Free" healthcare. We pay for it in heavy taxes. Not to mention, you still have to pay to go to a GP Doctor. Our healthcare system is also in massive disarray and is a lot more inefficient than it used to be. My grandfather also had to wait 9 months for knee surgery. So yea its nice to be able to go to the hospital when you need and not have to worry about the price, but we definitely pay for it in other ways.

Great Video, but! a couple of corrections, healthcare is definitely not free especially if you earn a reasonable but not high income! also most Kiwis need health insurance as the chance of getting anything done apart from an emergency operation is virtually nil, many people who can't afford insurance sit on waiting lists for so called non urgent medical operations & procedures for years and often get bumped off after a period of time & have to start again, there is a reasonably good national accident insurance but also in many cases claims are denied for any reason that they can find, there is though good support for kids with free doctors visits & dental care, second thing is the standard of living we have enjoyed for many years is rapidly deteriorating due to an anti business & industry, green & racially driven separatist government (likely to change next year) with insane ideology policies that see us importing dirty coal from Indonesia when our clean coal sits in the ground (just one example) anyway I'm happy you have had a positive experience and look forward to more vid's.

@recurringdreambusproject
@recurringdreambusproject Год назад
@@giuliano19971 Hi Giuliano, The coal produced here in NZ is the cleanest burning coal in the world that is why it is called "clean" but add to that the imported coal is produced in environment where there are little health & safety concerns, very low wages for workers & the actual coal is referred to as dirty because of the pollutants created when burning it, on top of that it is transported to New Zealand in ships that are not fuel efficient creating a far larger carbon footprint. The government here has ruled just as a dictatorship for the last term introducing race based privilege to Maori, introducing many hated & despised policies and changes without any democratic process what so ever including virtually no enforcement or control of criminals who now operate ram raids and daylight robberies at will, they will be removed in October this year and have a current approval rating below 30% hence why their communistic dictator of a leader has resigned yesterday as she knows how hated she is here. Hope that answers your question.

Some of the most over priced food items in NZ we actually produce right here. That whole "we are isolated" vibe isn't the reason... if it was we would have the cheapest milk and meat in the world. As it turns out NZ is a great place to be a vegan cos animal based products are so expensive. The only animal products I now have are when I'm having a treat or say going to Burgerfuel to get the latest burger.

I pretty much agree with everything, but...NZ is expensive, but with fresh food it pays to eat seasonally. Growers raise tomatoes all year round, but this often requires heated glass houses, which makes them expensive. Eat fresh tomatoes in summer when they are maybe $2.50 a kilo, and use tinned ones in winter. Houses are expensive, but Auckland is super expensive. You can buy a real up-market house in Dunedin for the average Auckland cost. Good news for buyers is how house prices are trending down in some places.

Well...good on you guys that you like NZ. But, as an expat living here temporarily (several years), I have to say NZ is definitely not "a cup of tea for everyone". For instance, this small and isolated island with poor infrastructure and overcast weather could be quite depressing dystopia to some people from mega European or Asian cities of very advanced countries like Paris, Rome, Berlin, LA, New York or Seoul and Tokyo etc. The real "problem" I have experienced so far with NZ is actually delusional & arrogant people here who really think their "small world" is the better than other nations. And I got lots to say about this...but let me give you a short and succinct example of the fact that nz is not as great as you might think. In my opinion, Australia is 100 times better than NZ in terms of any aspect you mentioned in your video(*whether pros or cons) the number of kiwis living in Australia is 670k out of 4.7 million population of NZ. That says pretty much everything. Period. All the best

Same here, the only reason that I don’t want to live here anymore is because of the unappreciative and entitled people of this country. Don’t get me wrong, NZ was my dream country because of its beautiful scenery, the work-and-life balance, good benefits but working in the healthcare industry, I get to see the abusive, rude and racist people which put me off in staying here. The maoris are so wonderful beautiful people: News from the Rotorua Daily Post: "Child, 2, dies after Rotorua driveway accident, family member steals from doctor trying to save child's life." As hospital staff tried to save the life of a 2-year-old boy run over in a Rotorua driveway, a family member swiped a doctor's two phones and a bank card and went on a spending spree. The child died a short time later but Melissa Herewini (A MAORI) had already taken the bank card to four stores in Rotorua and bought alcohol, food, petrol, phone credit and cigarettes. New Zealand Hearald news headline 29 May, 2024 “ Raglan man Simon Terence Hamiora Kereopa drags partner outside naked, pours boiling water over her“ Kereopa ( A MAORI) dragged her outside through the kitchen door by her arms, down the kitchen steps and onto the ground. He then grabbed the kettle, which was just inside the door, and poured the boiling water over the victim - who was naked at the time - directly onto her skin. As he did so, Kereopa told her “you deserve it, and that’s what you get”. He then told her he would reboil the jug and pour it on her face. She ran to seek help from her sister but she was asleep, before running into her daughter’s room and hugging her. Kereopa then went into the room and said, “once you let go, I’m burning your face”. Judge Stephen Clark noted Kereopa’s 17 family violence convictions, eight of which were against the current victim. The man responsible, Simon Terence Hamiora Kereopa, was today jailed for the incident, his ninth conviction against the victim during their 20-year-plus relationship. News 24 headline: "Shock over Maori infant brutality" They have been scalded, burned with cigarettes, raped, had bones broken and been beaten unconscious, sometimes to death. Horrific cases of Maori youngsters - some under two years of age - being tortured, abused and KILLED BY MEMBERS OF THEIR OWN FAMILIES Among the grisly headlines that have dominated the nation's media over recent weeks are stories of a 28-month-old Maori girl in a coma after suffering severe head injuries, a broken arm, cuts, bruises and cigarette burns over most of her body. The toddler's 52-year-old grandmother was being held in prison on assault charges. Police in the central North Island town of Carterton are investigating the death a week ago of 23-month-old Maori girl Hinewaoriki Karaitiana-Matiaha who was sexually abused, scalded with hot liquid and beaten before being taken to hospital by relatives. The child, who was put in the care of her grandmother by the Child, Youth and Family Service after consultations with the toddler's family just short of her second birthday, was dead on arrival at Masterton Hospital late on Sunday, July 23. And last week, a coroner in the east coast town of Tauranga found that two-month-old Marcus Te Hira Grey died from a brain haemorrhage following a severe beating by his father. These cases follow the recent release of a report into the gruesome killing last April of four-year-old James Whakaruru, beaten to death by his stepfather for failing to call him Dad. The stepfather had been jailed once for assaulting the boy, but the youngster endured a lifetime of horrific beatings, despite being under the eye of various child welfare agencies, and his hellish existence went unnoticed. The proportion of extreme cases of brutality towards children among the Maori population - which makes up about 15 percent of New Zealand's 3.8 million citizens - is far higher than for any other ethnic group.

@goodforgaia
@goodforgaia 2 года назад
How exciting! I would say making friends depends a lot on your personality and the effort you put in - but in my opinion it is harder in NZ than the UK. I found people were much keener to go to the pub after work (in London), and more open to making friends. I would say It also depends on what kind of job you have - is it working from home or an office, is it a social company, etc. We also made friends through having a baby - I joined a coffee group, and made an effort to talk to parents at the park, and went to different playgroups, and Josh joined social sports teams (football and basketball). There are also loads of Facebook groups you can join to meet people (that’s how I found my coffee group). I hope this helps a bit? It does take time to make friends, but it’s a great country and people are really friendly, so we think it’s worth it ☺️

This what you get from living in Auckland. Petrol price else where in NZ can be as low as $2.55 per litre, and dropping constantly I believe Auckland has an a additional tax on theirs. The reason for so many wood houses is that wood flex's with Earthquakes where as Brick houses tends to crumble. True some of the older houses can be damp but newer builds have overcome this problem, last time I checked the damp house ratio is about 3 to 5% Price of grocery's is often seasonable, tomatoes in summer can be as low as $1.99 a KG. Cucumbers as low as $1. As for the great outdoors you forgot to mention the Beaches. NZ has more coastline than mainland USA and 1000's of beaches, very easy to have an entire beach to yourself here.
