Our costs are higher here because we are not part of the EU, thank God, the EU has more people to sell to. Our wages are higher here than a lot of other European countries so things cost more, it’s all relative to where you live and how much you earn.

Our health insurance is expensive but the health system is very good, it is not state funded, we pay for it ourselves. I have a Sfr. 500 franchise per year, once i have used that up i only pay ten percent of the bill after that, the health fund pays the rest.

hello Liza (?), Sure the cost of living is high (that means higher than you think * laughs), but you still usually have more left than elsewhere. In the case of food, I think the high prices are partly due to the fact that fewer chemicals (pesticides, hormones, etc.) are used, which results in a lower yield, but better quality. The self-service shops are a peculiarity to us, but I think it's great. It still shows that you believe in the good of people and trust them. Yes, the health system cannot be compared to that in Russia at all. The private insurance costs not little either, on the other hand this is one of the reasons why our taxes are relatively low. Public transport .... a connection from almost every place to almost every other place, be it by bus, tram, train, ship or cable car ... what more could you want, besides that the whole thing reliably and punctually is (except for rush hours).

@@lizastime bruh the prices here are fucked, not because of the things that you stated but in general. A can of sodas cost on the other side of the boarder is what you'd expect but if it crosses the Swiss boarder than they can charge more cus people here are dumb and accepts the fact that they're getting ripped off.

Lovely video 💕 it makes me happy when foreigners living here love it and embrace all the great things this country offers. Lol on the dining out part 😅 we do eat out a lot on holidays in other places we visit. In ZH we only dine out once or twice a month. Apero is another thing😄 that happens a lot. Us Swiss love an after work aperitivo🍹 The quality of the food plays a big part in the fitness of the population. We are not big on processed foods and like good and fresh to cook at home. Paying more for health insurance is a big reason for keeping our taxes really low.

I can't agree with you about that health insurance is expensive. I live in Poland and here we also have "free" healthcare with some limitations, but we pay it in taxes and it is around 10% of my salary, in that case comparing my expenses in tax for it. I have low-end healthcare with waiting time about a year for anything to get and in most of the cases I end up with private medical companies where I have to pay additional money. I don't know how it looks like in Russia but I assume it looks a bit similar.

Honestly i am Swiss but never have i worked in a country that has such a high rate of Idiots and low IQ thinkers in the work place than in Switzerland. No one has the ability to think out of the box all new innovations are all copied from other countries.. The logic on how some think or behave is mind blowing. Team work is nearly non existent. Plus the indoctrination of fear amongst people frightened to loose their jobs because of some power hungry leader, supervisor or shift leader is insane... many just criticize, make up their own rules and threaten instead of giving CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM which helps a team thrive. Most of the verbal diarrhea coming from them is also going against work laws but they seem to think many don't do their home work. If your going to work and want a team that stands together go and work for an international company.

Is it true that the Swiss judge when you wear dresses? I'm thinking of tasteful modest dresses, with sneakers, etc., not heels Nothing vulgar or offensive. I have seen many negative comments about that and the coldness of Swiss people etc. Do you have to be quiet in public spaces and in general? Are the rules the same as in Germany where you are not allowed to flush the toilet after 10 pm at night? Etc. I would like to hear the experiences of foreigners in that country, and the Swiss themselves about their culture. 🙂
@zaram131
@zaram131 8 месяцев назад
I visited Switzerland from the US last year, and I was surprised by how many women were wearing dresses and skirts, especially in Zurich! Compared to the US, they wear dresses and high heels much more. Also, the people were not cold at all. They were very friendly, especially after my dad talked to them in Swiss German. The trains and trams are as quiet as libraries. You definitely don’t want to talk loudly on the train, or people will glare at you. I loved it there so much, I’m looking for a way to move there.
@Bea-xc7wy
@Bea-xc7wy 8 месяцев назад
@@zaram131 Thank you for sharing your experience 🙂 people always tell me that I'm quiet and that I need to speak louder to be understood, so Switzerland would be ideal for me 😄 I'm not so much interested in big cities like Zurich, but beautiful villages 😍 If I could, I would move there immediately. Unfortunately, it's hard to get in Switzerland in general, especially when you are going alone and don't know anyone there.
@zaram131
@zaram131 8 месяцев назад
Yes, it’s very hard to move there as an American. I loved the beautiful villages, but I loved Zurich too. The old town in Zurich is so beautiful. It’s all traffic-free, as are many of the smaller villages. Yes, for us quieter people, Switzerland is a dream come true. My ancestors were from there, so I felt right at home immediately! I hope you get to go, and I hope I get to go back!
@lizastime

I do not think they judge, I think most people don‘t care. People are different as everywhere but I was lucky enough to meet a lot of great, kind people here. You don‘t have to be quite in public spaces but you have to care about people around you, be respectful, sometimes, indeed, it means be quite. 😊 At home after 20.00 you have to be quite meaning not making too much noise, if the house is that old that you can hear everything than probably yes avoid using bathroom, but it is such a rare case nowadays
