As a lifelong resident of Wisconsin, I have to correct a couple things, because people from other states automatically don't want to come here because of these biases. It typically only snows from November 15 to April 1 on average. But, our "awesome summmer" (it is, best summer in the U.S.) is from Memorial day to September 15. Also the newer waterpark resorts are mostly indoors, so you can play year round. Kalahari, The Wilderness, The Great Wolf Lodge and at least one more who I can picture, but forgot the name are predominantly indoors. Mt. Olympus is 50/50, so it's still open in the winter. Noah's Ark and Family Land are exclusively outdoors so I think they're only open like May 15 to September 30.
As a life long resident of Wisconsin, we would have hoped you would have caught on to the satirical nature of the video ;) Thanks for watching! Consider subscribing and watching more videos!
Really pumps me up to move and take some months in Wisconsin and see if I can get used to the winter! The only question I have about Wisconsin, is, if I'm in Milwaukee downtown, what the chances for an electric car be stolen, while in charging, or parking?
@@rafas3893 I guess it depends on what part of "downtown" MKE you're in...? I wouldn't be too nervous, but I also wouldn't park that bad boi on the street - MKE is a city, cars are stolen in every city... Thanks for watching! Consider subscribing and watching more episodes!
@@rafas3893 I have not observed that many public places to charge an electric car, so you would probably have to do that at home. As far as someone stealing parked cars, now a key with a computer chip is needed to start most cars, so cars would have to be stolen by car jacking, not stolen unattended from a parking spot.
Don't move to Madison , it's a shit hole and I don't recommend it at all , move to the more rural areas but stay as far away from Madison as humanly possible , please take my advice , I used to live there and I know how shitty it is
You glossed over the natural beauty of Wisconsin. Wis has lots of rivers and lakes to have fun on in the summer. There are tons of ethnic and music festivals in the sumner. In Oshkosh, EEA. Miles and miles of beautiful woods and forests in northern Wisconsin. Excellent state parks that you can camp at. Last but not least, our wonderful and cute Wisconsin accent!
You're definitely right - but we had to for time. Wisconsin's beauty alone makes it a state worth being in. Thanks for the insight - check out more videos and consider subscribing if you haven't already!
I liken Wisconsin to a kind of: "Europe in America". The state had TONS of immigrants from Norway, Sweden, Ireland and Germany. Their European culture is STILL part of the state. Drive through any small town. The streets are clean. The houses are all painted. The lawns are ALWAYS well kept. People take pride in what they have...and show it! Drive down the most remote road in Wisconsin, a road NO ONE ever takes, and you'll come across homes that look like they're prepared for a photo shoot for Better Homes and Gardens. Amazing!
I am originally from Wisconsin. Year round, there is ALWAYS something to do! As far as attractions, House On The Rock, Holy Hill, Laura Ingalls Wilder house in Pepin, Cave Of the Mounds, etc. There is so much to see & do in the state! I miss it immensely! There is no place like it in the world! No matter where I may reside, Wisconsin will ALWAYS be home!
I've lived in NYC my whole life and plan to move to Wisconsin after I graduate law school. I want to get away from the cosmopolitan hustle and bustle of NYC and live a nice cozy quiet life in small town Wisconsin. I take farm fields for Times square any day!
But...In saying "Wisconsin doesn't have any big attractions".....what state DOES? Go to Arizona...and look at the Grand Canyon? Hey..after 5 minutes you say: "Let's go HOME!". Alright, Florida...Disney World! OK. But you can spend several days at the Dells, too, and have just as much fun, at MUCH less cost! And I've been to Cape Cod. They say: "Door County is the Cape Cod of the Middle West". I say: "Cape Code is the Door County of the East Coast". (And I'm FROM Chicago! But I've been living in Wisconsin (Undercover, of course) for MOST of the last 50 years.)
Thanks for the deeply insightful reply! Love it! Certainly some states are in the same boat as WI, but plenty of states have more than one "attraction." We do get your point though! Thanks for sharing! Consider subscribing if you haven't already and check out some more episodes!
In the fifth grade it has gotten so cold that kids had so missed too many days of school and had had to add extra five minutes onto the school day to make up for all the days we’ve missed
I live in Chicago and you're right, people here suck. They just do. So, we decided that we are going to move to Wisconsin in September to get away from the stink. My family has a cabin up in Wisconsin, I love it up there. That said, I'll be sure to brush up on my driving etiquette and leave whatever stink I have accumulated over the years in Chicago, where it belongs. Loved the video!
Fun fact: Wisconsin Is the only state to be born out of spite. The Wisconsin territory was including about half of northern Minnesota, a bit of northern Illinois, and lastly, the peninsula that Michigan has now. Illinois firstly takes some land, Wisconsin territory is not that affected. Then there was a “war” between Michigan and Ohio. There was a city on the borderline that they battle over. The battle ended with Ohio winning, leading to “compensation” in the addition of what would be 20% of Wisconsin’s modern territory. This pissed a lot of people off but not to enough extent. Then Minnesota took the land to the north. Wisconsin is pissed at this point and upon hearing that Michigan wanted to expand all along the coastline to Lake Michigan, cutting off all Wisconsin access to the lake, they decided to sign into being an official state to protect our land. We’re fine with everyone now but our relationship with Michigan is odd. It’s like flipping someone off and fist bumping immediately after.

I haven't heard if that law, but the Butter Law is still in effect. If restaurants offer butter at the table, it can't be margarine or any other crap. It has to be butter. 😊
You can travel to Chicago or the twin cities to mall of America and you're close to the great lakes, and there's lots of stuff to do year round there is variety and it's one of the few places that is a climate safe haven, besides cold and heavy snowfall it doesn't have bad natural disasters, isn't in tornado alley (I live in NE and we rarely get tornadoes, that's more common in KS or MO and OK) it doesn't have poisonous snakes or bugs, earthquakes, mudslides, tsunamis, hurricanes, droughts, sandstorm, sink holes, isn't prone to flooding and doesn't have to worry about volcanic eruptions. It gets enough rain and snow for all the "boring farmland" has trees and beautiful scenery, is safe crime wise especially in small towns and its relatively affordable. Very much considering moving to Wisconsin, I'm originally from upstate NY, so I'm used to harsh winters and now live in NE with my husband.
It doesn’t sound much different from Montana, snow from Oct till April and the threat sometimes there is snow in June. The temperature doesn’t drop that low, but it’s cold, sometimes, cold is cold. I w I’ll stay home. I’m considering moving there, I’m more worried about mosquitoes
We haven't been sure how to reply to this... We feel a place is as safe as you make it - sorry we can't be of more help... But thanks for watching! Consider watching some of our newer videos & subscribing if you haven't already!
The pro's here out weigh the cons which is why I choose to still stay and live here, to many to list. So I'll go with my cons of living here lol- Cold Brutal long winters, 3rd world like pot-hole ridden roads, Terrible drivers, drunks lol, people can be Very fake, clicky and if your new here it's tough to make new friends and lastly hahah (mind you, Im a Huge die-hard Wisc sports fan) besides the Packers the rest of our teams havn't won anything in the last idk how many years and havn't seen championship success. Other than that, were blessed in many ways.
Remember, wisconsin loves beer so much, it name a city after a beer brand. Slinger used to be schlesingerville, but was renamed slinger after the stork beer slinger
Hey buddy, you know Colby cheese was named after the town it was created in...the town wasn't named after the cheese...Colby was named after some railroad guy who had absolutely NOTHING to do with cheese :)
The packers are playing a playoff game tomorrow and I got invited to meet the family of my new gf and she has family from WI, is it true I can make a good impression with Brauts and beer?
It depends what you want to see! If you want to experience Wisconsin winter, January-March is a good time. If summer, May-July. If a little bit of it all, Aug.-October! Thanks for watching! Consider subscribing if you haven’t yet!
@@FTAMT Thanks! Then I go for August-October, and we start with the water worlds of Wisconsin Dells before it gets colder. I hope to travel authentic anno 1871 in the wake of my great-great-great-grandfather Ovren Mikkelosn, who went to Cambridge at the age of 73 together with four of his kids and grandchildren. They went first to Hull in England, train to Liverpool and the America Boat from Liverpool. Hope there's still going a passenger boat between Liverpool and the USA? Or maybe we can go with a cruise boat as a second option? We'll go in authentic clothes, and I hope to visit the shipyard where the steamer S/S Hero was built in 1866 in Hull. This steamer is so nice, and it went in regular traffic from Oslo to Hull every Friday since 1867. Have you been to Cambridge? What to see there? Ps! I hope to make a deal for home schooling with my local school when we're there. Then we can support them on emigration history and new knowledge about Wisconsin, for their social Studies and history lessons:-)
Being from the western part of Wisconsin, it's fun to watch the Vikings fans get upset when Green Bay has successful seasons and four superbowl trophies while they can't win one. In my part of the state, the rivalry is between the Packers and the Vikings, not the Packers and the Bears.
Wrong. There is no bigger rivalry in all of professional sports than Packers/Bears. I don't live in the northwestern part of the state (thank God) so there may be some sort of rivalry up there between Packer and Viking fans that I have no first hand knowledge of. However, down here in the civilized part of the state, not so much. That's just another team they're forced to play twice a year... like the Lions.
@@rejjy19 my brother in law is from south east Wisconsin and it's the Bears and Packers while in Western Wisconsin it's with the Vikings. We were glad Minnesota didn't get to play in their stadium when they host the Superbowl that year. We would never hear the end of it.
@@FTAMT I did bro but seriously i didn’t mean to be sarcastic. It’s not like Milwaukee wasn’t famous I was just saying because I live on the other edge of the world so …
It's not "mostly winter" in Wisconsin. It lasts around 4-5 months- middle November thru late March. I've lived here my whole life. I hate cold and snow, that's a huge negative. Wisconsin is not "God's country", it's just another state with a lot of odd and often obese people with weird/grating accents. The average high temperatures in Wisconsin in the summer are not between "70 and 80" degrees. It's in the low 80's. I don't mind Illinois, Chicago is an awesome city. I'm glad I'm within 90 miles of Chi-town... that's a plus to living in Wisconsin.
@@FTAMT Sorry to be a debbie downer. This is the first time I've ever seen one of your videos. I just hate stereotypes of Wisconsin. For example, I don't eat bratwursts and drink beer for breakfast. I haven't had a brat in over a decade and I'm not much of a drinker. Life is too short to waste it away with excessive drinking. I will subscribe and try to be more positive in any future comments.
illannoys drivers may be bad, but holly sh!t oinksconsin drivers are waaayyyy worse. From living about equal amount of many years in Chicago, Milwaukee, and Madison, Wisconsin drivers make me wanna move back, and Wisconsin 'cities' just as well since the walkability (chance of avoiding bad drivers) is minimal. And what's up with the multiple DUI/DWIs in the news all the time? If it was just 2-3 per person, but it's way more. Sconsin'd be ok, if it weren't for its people. (But that goes for most places)
Illinois???? Duuuuude, greetings from Vegas… We have California on our southern border…. LA is only four hrs away! Tell me about trashy people, worse drivers and crime!!!
None of us have been to Vegas - but maybe they'd say the same about y'all? ;) Thanks for watching and giving us a good laugh! Consider watching some of our newer videos & subscribing if you haven't already!
So much BS I didn’t make it to the end. You don’t have to exaggerate in order to make it interesting. It isn’t all winter, snow, cheese, and drunks. It’s never been 50 below. People can look up the records for themselves. You do seem to have something of a schizophrenic attitude with all of the afore-mentioned negatives then too it is God’s Country. This might amuse some people who live here but anyone considering a move or an extended visit will be totally confused.
