Hard hitting is a generous term lol. Though honestly they can do alright as long as you can give your opponents some fight last. (they're glass cannons but more emphasis on the glass)
Isn't losing your gaming friends a con for playing Gargants? At least if all the internet rage comments about them are to be believed. People seem to really hate the fact that they exist in the game.
The thing is that people will always complain. About everything. They will hate you for playing Lumineth realm lords, thunderlizards, gargants, archaeon, 2 megaboss on krusha list, deepkin with eels, etc. Just play what you think is cool, and if you want strong. I play Ironjawz, Kruleboyz, Stormcast and Lumineth and people hate me for taking Teclis and 30 sentinels. But it's a tournament list so I couldn't care less
@@montidude I would still argue that this Lumineth list would be absolutely unnessecary if you are playing against a friend with an army like Gloomspite Gitz. Tournament is tournament, you bring what you can to win (also healthy for the game because it gives the balance team something to look out for), but don't go smashing your friends in a casual match.
In a tournament setting Gargants run rampant and games become stale and very predictable, which only reinforces a dps check counter meta where every player that isn't playing gargants has a shooting heavy or mortal wound stacking army that just tables the casual player. The average competive player and store owners just want you to play the path of least resistance which is currently gargants or buy the biggest and most expensive models such as archaon, Be'lakor. My current list is blades of khorne which isn't exactly top tier, I run a bunch of pet models I find fun and enjoy playing but is far from the current meta even for a BoK list.
