Pros and Cons of Stone Houses | What are the Advantages and Disadvantages of making Stone Houses
In recent years, more and more people have started buying and restoring old houses - while being careful not to lose that rustic charm that is so popular at the moment, of course.
This is where stone houses - which we always immediately associate with old houses - come into play.
Many people are choosing to buy or rent old, traditional houses, whether it be to live in or for a second home.

Stone walls also tend to block more heat!

Yeah, that 'it's economical!' is some BS. Stone is heavy, hard to extract, shape, and transport, and requires a special and different skillset than most builders are now used to. If you're down the street from a quarry and do the work yourself, sure, you might save money, but otherwise? 💰

It looks good if stone masonry is done properly.

Stone is definitely not cheaper then wood It also requires maintenance, although possibly less often, it depends how it’s built, but it definitely won’t last forever

It depends, where are you living? in general it's much cheaper than wood.

@@Howtomakemyhouse where is that? I’d love to live there, I really like building with stone, wood houses are so flimsy.

@@lorenzo963 the pyramids are crumbling, they are in a place that doesn’t have seasons, and they are not regularly trafficked like a modern building would be.

@@logans3365 I mean the pyramids are crumbling after several millennia lol. So unless you're a vampire or some other kind of immortal it shouldn't be an issue. Though you are right about the traffic and the climate. Dry desert climate is the best for preserving any material
