On those 5 to 7 pin sights, set the middle pin right in the center of the housing and adjust the entire housing to get the yardage for that pin first. Then adjust the rest of the pins from there. It helps for those of us with OCD to get the "group" of pins centered in the housing. It keeps you from setting everything up only to see the "group" of pins is too low or high in the housing and needing to move everything again. Just a hint I learned from doing it the hard way first...

I do the same thing but I start with the bottom pin just above the bubble. It maxs out my sight so I get the absolute most range out of it.

I've always put my 20 up towards the top and adjusted the housing for it. But 75 is a long shot for me

Happens to the best. I also have a 5 pin and 4 of the 5 are green only one is red. I used to get confused and accidentally use the wrong pin

Multiple pin sliders are the way to go for multi pins. Sight in the pins and use the bottom as your slider. I love it on my black gold. But I'm strictly an whitetail hunter, so I've never had to dial my sight, but I have it for my ss34 for tac as well.

I hear you. I ordered a dozen, too, and have no idea what weight, etc., I'm getting, but I run the same length as Chris (28/300) and know they'll be well-built. I'm okay with his knowledge and construction. We'll see how they fly!

Same, it would be too much. Mine is set to 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 meters and that is pretty much all I need. And I have lots of room up from 10 pin and not so much down space for 50m pin, I rarely shoot 50m.

I wish someone explain the different rests. The differences from hunting and target rests. Are drop down rests OK for 3d or should you use a Launcher rest

It's a lot faster if you sight in your shortest pin and your longest pin and then set the rest of the pins using a graph or appropriate sight tape. I've shot the Spot Hogg Hunter Hogg It for years (bomb proof). The wire is helpful when pin gapping or stacking like when shooting bigfoot at Redding (bowhunter freestyle).

Chris do you shoot a left helical because the lift clocks counter clockwise? I haven’t figured out yet how to tell by looking at the string. I watched the video of the guys who did a study on this and it makes absolute sense to match your bows natural spin, especially if you like shooting longer distances.

So I have a question. I recently bought a trx 40 but im a little worried because I always see people running 36s or 38s so wondering if theres something bad about it or wrong with it.

I have a TRX 40 and a Title 38. Absolutely nothing wrong with the TRX 40. Only thing I changed on both was switching out the Zebra string on the TRX to an ABB as well as ditching the match string on the Title to an ABB. Neither the Zebra nor the Match strings are any good in my experience. Lots of peep creep and spin at max draw length.

So…5 pin version years ago called the Sure Thing, then renamed Real Deal. Had one & killed my biggest buck ever with one. The clutter of all those pins bothered me with sight picture. Went to single vertical pin years ago and never looked back. Spot Hogg sights are bombproof however even with all the tiny fasteners!

Seven pins does seem like a lot. The sight on my bow has five pins. I think a manufacturer could shake up the market if they developed a fixed pin sight were the end user could change the number of pins in the housing. It seems like managing the pin fibers in a setup like this would be difficult. But, I prefer a fixed pin sight and I would like to have 5 or more pins to practice at longer ranges (40yds+) and then for hunting I would like to have a three pin sight (20, 30, 40). Does anyone know of a manufacturer that has fixed pin sight where I could change the number of pins?

I have a spott hogg not sure on model though it’s older. Works the same this sight adjustment wise. But I can remove the 5 small screws and then remove pins etc. Just remove the guard that covers the fibers and remove them or add them back later. Swap pin diameters etc.

@@sinepari9160 well your getting took to the cleaners im paying 226 for a dozen arrows done up thats black eagle and victory arrows all with ethics inserts . or I can do it myself same arrows but 12 and way cheaper google is your friend...
