I have the 450h and love it. Great drive, huge economy, beautiful interior. Whilst I agree that at this price I’d expect a top sound set up, I get on fine with the one supplied.

Weird, that the 450h is worse than the regular NX 350h hybrid which does around 40 MPG.

just because this Vehicle was built in Japan is why many people would want to buy them and I'm one of them. I probably agree with you on the sound system. Once the Vehicle price passes 25K I like a lot of things to be good I can imagine a 60K price tag I will be unhappy with a low-quality sound system. at least they have to option it!!

Just because it's made in Japan is not a good enough reason. It looks like this car has less torque than the petrol Mazda CX-5 Akera and this lexus a hybrid. I passed on this SUV.

No Mark Levinson....no sale, the 23 speaker system is off the hook, its like Miles Davis is sitting in the back seat. Once you've been immersed, the quality especially with CDs is hard to imagine being without. Great review Kevin.

Hey Kevin. Thanks for this review. I was eagerly waiting for it. I am on the list thru L companion for a 350h. I would have considered the plug in, but once I found out that it didn't come with the ML, no deal. No Way. Some don't care that much, but i'm not one of those. I'm like the savage gueese when it comes to audio. I also think that it doesn't come with a pnao roof either.

Hey my friend, yea I think you made the right choice, the 350h is the way to go because the ML audio really is the option to get since the 10 speaker is not a quality system. How long have you been waiting, have they given you any updates on when you can take delivery?

@@MeynMotorGroup I have been on the list since the spring. I have in touch with them a couple of times and the last time I was told Dec to Jan. Specifically the build and colors that I want. I wanted to ask you now that you have driven both . Your thoughts between the New NC and the ES300h. I know they are 2 different cars. I believe that the ES is much more refined but I would like something that is a little more fun to drive with a little more power in the hybrid class.

@@josefernandez2722 ah gotcha ok not too bad December is right around the corner. Yes ES is quieter and more refined but you’re right, shockingly the SUVs feel a bit stiffer and they almost feel like they handle a bit better than the ES due to the suspension tuning of the SUVs. I wouldn’t say the NX is fun but it’s very capable for an SUV. Mainly it’s the practicality you gain because the thing I really hate about the ES is the fact you can’t fold down the rear seats. Such a shame so an suv like the NX is much more practical as a family vehicle. Plus better tech so if you value these things then yes NX should serve you well while getting 40 mpg

The one thing that has been missing within the last two years is the ability to go into a dealership and just test drive these different cars and get a feel for myself. If you're willing to pay 5-10k markup, you can get it in a few months instead of years. Considering how it qualified for the 7500 tax credit, it made sense to pay up the markup.

Hi Yesterday I did a test drive for a Lexus nx 450h in hybrid mode, and I was surprised that for the duration of the test the sound of the electric motors was annoying... Is this normal for the hybrid mode? Another thing I felt was that the suspension system is not quite as good as described in the videos because I I felt it concretely in the street potholes and light bumps. Besides in the volvo xc60 b5 mild hybrid test nothing of this felt no annoying sounds and good behaviour suspensions. In fact i love Lexus but i dont know what to buy

Because this is literally the most important metric for people when buying a car and meeting EPA regulations is the only way the car companies can even exist. This is all going away for full EVs

Agreed there were some cutting corners with the NX, for example the amount of piano black plastic used, and the plain looking front passanger dasboard. If I had to get another NX it would be the 2018-2021 Executive Package. Has everything you need except for the pano roof.

They removed all of the hybrid branding - the blue logo etc, the "Hybrid" emblem, blue start button... Pity, kinda liked it...

How does the 2022/2023 NX 10 speaker audio compare to the 2021 10 speaker audio? I have the 2021 now, want to upgrade to the 2023 Hybrid, I have no issues with the current 10-speaker system, I don’t want a downgrade by going to the 2022/23

The XC60 I drove didn’t have the air ride so it rode pretty bad similar to the old NX where occupants would move around a lot over bumps. Very nauseating. But a gentleman who watches my videos recently bought an XC60 with air ride and he informed me that was amazing. I do like the Corsair but I feel like the Euro and Japanese cars feel more premium. BMW X3 is good same with the Q5 GLC has a rattly 4 cylinder and cheap feeling interior. X3 & Q5 drive better than this and is quieter. I prefer the interior and tech of the NX to the X3 & Q5. NX is also more spacious

Won't call the new infotainment "elegant", rather a typical Toyota industrial layout, completely afterthought in desperate attempt to catch up. It is fast responding, yes, but being touch only and NOT having any alternative controller -- absolute no go. Having to look, reach and touch is ridiculous, regards of manufacturer.

Prob the hybrids are their bread and butter. Phev in generally are also sold much less among all brands? I for example only want a hybrid or a full ev, im guessing many are in the same category as me, im in europe so could be different.

Hang on…..you have to press a button on the door handle before pulling the handle for it to unlock and open?? In other words, the sensor isn’t on the inside of the handle itself? Tell me I’m mistaken 😮

That's incorrect. You don't need to push the exterior button first to get in. The video is misleading with the push of the button first. If the key is on you, you just need to grab the handle, where your fingers naturally wrap around and inherently depress the button/tab, and pull open. It's actually very smooth.

Exactly that was my point that’s why I said it never bothered me. You touch it because you naturally will touch it anyways. People just hate it simply because it’s electronic. I also have noticed other simply blow this way out of proportion. A regular handle could have avoided all this completely I suppose.

This nx450h+ is super quiet in electric mode but becomes a more than ordinary car when the petrol engine starts, it seems to me that it does not have enough soundproofing, which makes it very unpleasant and noisy when the petrol engine starts, especially on the highway, and that's where it's even more important to have a quiet car. I had, before this Lexus, a Mercedes diesel GLK 250 which was very very quiet compared to this supposedly quiet Lexus. I am very unsatisfied to have paid $92,000 for a supposedly silent SUV! Every year I do 3000KM twice with this device which makes an unacceptable noise! I'm really disappointed, Lexus has to adjust to what the customer wants, stop giving a fuck!

The nx isn’t worth it at all. Cmon y’all it’s a rav4 with lipstick. Nothing else The turbo may be the thing unique to the nx but it’s not unique in general since you can get the same motor in the Highlander The phev is not worth it all. Spending 60K just to get the same performance as a base Acura RDX or heck even a v6 Camry is just inexcusable. Not to mention that the xc60 is cheaper Same ev range and much much faster…
