My instant locs were $600 and worth every penny. I'm loving them. Drove to my loctician in Orlando. Great energy and professionalism. 108 locs, 4 hrs including shampoo and dryer time.(2 sets of hands to instant loc). I so appreciated that since I had a 6hr drive back home.
@@pressureddiamond3062 hey, i'm in orlando and i got just got instant locs done at DXLYNLOCS. she has a youtube channel where you can see her work if you're interested, it's the same name
After 1 year of having my instant locs, my stiffness has completely gone away. But that’s interesting, I never considered that. That’s definitely something people should avoid doing. That’s good to know, thanks for sharing.
This was helpful! I got quoted $875 😫💀 I’m getting more quotes though and checking out the vibe and their catalog of work. I am Dominican with 3b 3c hair
Hey, the locs most definitely get thicker. Avoid tight hairstyles & getting a retwist too often. Also, moisturize daily and try to wear your locs down or in a lose hairstyle. 💓
Hey, after getting instant locs, you have to get a maintenance done. This can be 2 to 3 times during your next appointments or depending on what your loctician suggests. The only method you should be getting done to your instant locs for maintenance is the crochet method.
Hey, an yes you’ll get your roots retwisted as you would the regular way. However, to ensure your instant locs stay tightly locked, you get the crochet method done a few more times along the shaft of your hair. It all depends on what your loctician suggests.
Hey, what do you mean by folded your hair in? All it takes is for them to determine how thin or thick your hair is and then they can determine the correct amount of locs to give you. Then, they just set take the comb to back comb your hair and then use the crochet needle to make it into a loc. So, im confused on why your hair needed to be folded. Explain more if you can 💓
Oh okay, I understand now. No, she did the right thing because this won’t damage your hair. If it was thin at the end, she folded it because more hair was needed to create the crochet instant loc at the end. So It’s perfectly fine 💓
Hi when you first got your instant locs how long did you wait to wash your hair? And how often did you wash your hair before you went into the salon for a re-twist ?
Hey, I waited 2 months. An I wash my hair 2-4 times a month. This may be a shock to many but less manipulation actually allows your hair to grow. Also, if you’re in any sports or working out I recommend washing it more often. When I work out I wash my hair more often because you don’t want sweat build up. However, I still moisturize my hair with rose water and coconut oil daily. 💓
Hi sha-Deana my name is precious when i went to my Beautician i was feeling good about my self but my instant locs Beautician was doing my instant locs really tight how can i tell her to not do it so tight and what chemical i can put in my instant locs for balding and what oil to use in your scalp i been using island oil Jamaican mango and Lime to oil my scalp what to do this is PB get back with me thank you
Hey, did you get a style after getting your instant locs or are you saying she retwisted your roots too tight? Other than that your instant locs shouldn’t be tight, just be sure to let her know that. Castor oil and jojoba oil are great growth oils for bald spots, however I moisturize my scalp and locs using coconut oil and rose water. 💓
Hi, yes. They can most definitely be combed out. The sooner the better because the longer you wait it’ll be a little harder to comb out and you may lose some length. I suggest finding a video that shows the process. 💗
I did instant locs and extensions on my 2nd journey no one tells you how heavy extensions can be especially when they get wet I’m on my 3rd journey currently this time I did 2 strand twists and interlock the roots no unraveling and it looks neat
Hey, yes there are. For example, as a female we like to wear our hair in styles such as buns, pigtails, braids etc. With that being said, most of us want a straight part down the middle of our head so we can wear buns with a straight part or we want to be able to wear our locs down the side with a straight side part. So, it really depends but for guys it doesn’t matter because they don’t do as many styles as females nor care if their parts are straight.
Hi, I recommend 3-4 months. I usually get a retwist every 3 months because I feel as though 2 months is too soon & 4 months is too long for me. However, it really depends on you & your locs. 💓
Hey. No, I wouldn’t recommend it. Your locs could immediately lose their shape and become deformed. It could also interrupt the and slow down the locking process.
