Spot on. My family and I have lived here for 6 yrs. I retired from the USAF and we decided to stay here because of the Pros mentioned in this video. Like another comment, fishing is outstanding and paddle boarding and any other water activities are top notch. You don’t hear about crime a lot besides petty stuff most of the time. My kids go to Gulf Pointe Latin School which I think ranked #1 in the nation the last couple years for Classical Learning. One con I will add is due to the probability of potential hurricanes and excellent home values…..costs of property insurance and property taxes are quite high. So keep that in mind

The airplane noise could be a deal breaker for me. Does it get constant commercial airline traffic ?

No we don’t get commercial aircraft traffic. Occasionally you will hear military airplanes. You will hear the ac 130s shooting and some bombing practice, but you get immune from it after about 2 or 3 months. After 6 years here i hardly notice it. We are a laid back little beach town but we are growing. Locals are helpful to tourists, will generally be willing to recommend restaurants and the ones to stay away from(Dewey Destins, east bay crab house) cough cough. you will get to know locals as we have the same restaurant/bar/brewery routine it seems.
