Every pro that was given in this video can be counteracted with direct examples of healthcare in America (for example people being forced to lead active lifestyles - American rates for obesity/ill health). But really informative video though.

The reality is the NHS is slowly becoming privatised. The whole A & E department at my local hospital is owned by a private company.

the US has demanded “full market access” in the NHS and is known to want to end the ability of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (Nice), which regulates medicine prices in the UK, to block drugs it does not consider value for money. The Trump administration also wants to change patent law, potentially paving the way for US drug firms to demand higher prices for their medicines and over a longer period of time.

The NHS must never be privatised!! There are no cons that would ever negate the pros of the NHS. Thankfully, being in Scotland, our NHS is far better funded, managed and ran than that of Wales and England (simply due to our population size more than anything) and the question of privatisation is laughed off. To allow these services to fall into the hands of greedy, harmful and corrupt corporations (like in the states) would have such a detrimental effect not just to our health as a nation, but to the very society we live in.

Private health is a disaster. Just look at USA. Americans cannot even afford their insulin..! The single payer universal health care system has been proven to deliver better health outcomes population wide time and again. Check out the doc on the intro of the NHS. Within 10 yrs of its intro infant mortality halved and deaths from infectious diseases fell by over 80%.

1: but the person must still spend money on insurance it only means the poorer get worse treatment, why not increase taxes for that and make it more flexible 2: The USA an example that you used has private healthcare and it is the most inefficient system in the world and most expensive 3: I get it would reduce wait times, but as a minor point only for those, who can pay mostly - this point seemed fairly valid 4: maybe, but people don’t really think that far ahead but a hmmmm point 5: often with insurance the customer is forced into the insurance companies choice not the person These are just to think about if you have to give a pro in the interview do, just don’t have to believe it

Privatisation is what's slowly killing the NHS, and ridiculous PFI contracts taken out in the 90's. I worked for Sodexo in an NHS hospital, they charged the wards an extortionate amount of money to feed or clean their wards. The food quality went down as well as now everything is frozen 🤮 there is no better healthcare when you're trying to save some money and make some profit.

Isn't privatisation of the NHS different to private healthcare? The NHS is becoming more and more privatised but it is still 'free at the point of need' and patients would not have to pay for their healthcare. Thank you for a great video!

Hello Kenji. I’m an adult nursing student and we do placements(in hospital wards and communities) as part of our programme. If I were to apply for medicine can that be seen as work experience or do I have to do extra voluntary work? Thnxs Love ur vids💕ur such an inspiration ✨😊

anything you gained experience from, a care home, communication empathy patient centered approach. I know getting a placement in a hospital is difficult but any role in a caring environment is key!! hope that helped !

Also guys, some private organisations can’t afford heavy machinery such as MRI machines - due to the hefty cost it derives. As a consequence when those private patients require MRI scans, their able to cut the cue and be given that MRI scan straightaway, because the NHS is paid by that private organisation.. so it brings in the idea of inequity, whereby the ability to pay is enabling the rich to jump the cues... at the expense of the people from lower:medium income backgrounds

Hi Kenji !! Huge fan 👌🏾🤗. I wanted to ask two questions, I'm a 20 year old finishing final year of Radiography, going to apply for graduate medicine in 2019: 1) how much chemistry is there in Medicine? 2) do you think that the graduate entry medicine programme will be stopped by the government soon?

Hey! Thank you! :) Here are my answers: 1) I would say that there isn't that much chemistry. In first year we do have a bit of it in biochemistry but not a lot, which is great for me because I struggled with it in A-levels! 2) To be honest I haven't heard about this but I wouldn't think so!
