I'm a boxer and this is my go to knife for self defense (Cold Steel urban pal and mini pal) because it keeps my wrist in the exact same position as when I throw a punch. Traditional knives will require you to bend your wrist in an angle and it might affect your ability to fight. Push daggers feel completely natural.

I am a custom knife maker and collector and I have done a lot of reserch on the subject. all push daggers are federally illegal in Australia. damn stupid australian laws. I still make them though.

I have the same cold steel push dagger - had to use it 2 weeks ago when i got attacked by a damn dog - must say its my n1 -

I love my mini pal I use it as a tool daily it's so easy to cut stuff with it and it's very sharp :) and small to so it fits in my pocket very well takes up little room

Iowa (where I live) you are allowed to have a push dagger but you need to have it in the open and cannot be in a pocket and if you have it on a belt your shirt or anything can be covering it. Society needs to see and approve that you have it in possession. Don't know what the fines are if it is concealed Iv'e never gotten charged or questioned.
