Here's another advantage of boondocking....Every site is a "pull-through site" 🤠. The piece and quiet of boondocking is so peaceful and less stressful with minimum rules. But it sure does require a substantial monetary outlay for that "Free" camping. Count me in the boondocking column.

Boondocking!!! Get a solar shower bag, easy to wash your hair! We have a 6 gallon bag. I put it on the hood of the truck to heat, we use ours all the time. Also...Baby wipes for a spit bath type clean up. Refreshes, cleans and is good enough!

Repackage your groceries when you bring them to the RV. Put everything in containers or zip lock bags. (Saves space too) Toss out all the original containers before you head out to that boondocking spot..Better storage and less trash.
@gina50gina

I prefer boondocking. A hack I do for garbage in the summer is to freeze all meet waste in a small bag, then toss it on garbage day. That way you don't get unexpected guests. For water conservation, I use a spray bottle of vinegar and water to wash my dishes. Just wipe them with paper towel. It works well on most things. You might want to consider a composting toilette. It doesn't use any water, and the solid wast can be thrown in the trash. I built my own, but there are different ones for sale that you could take a look at. If the price of the over packed campground was really low, it would be an advantage, but to pay full price to camp in a place that is a glorified parking lot it just not value for your money. Glad you are boondocking!

Trick for the shower. Soak down, flip the valve to shut the water off. Soap up, flip the valve back on and rinse. Same with hair. Most time dumping grey water is not such a big deal. Tent campers don't pack out grey water.

Ok guys.. when we dry camp/boondock, when our grey tanks fill up we open the valve to our tank enough for it to trickle out, no washing out of the soil and we use all natural soaps so to not poison the environment and plants. When using your toilet, do not put paper in your tank. We keep scented waste can liners and place the paper in the waste basket with a lid. We have several 10 gallon water containers that we haul with us, we also DO NOT dump our cooler water, we keep our melted ice water and dump it into the grey tank. We don’t have solar so we use our generator and batteries.

I love boondocking. I have 2 dogs and it's much quieter when there is no activity for them to bark at. I do stay in campgrounds when I visit my daughter & her family in Washington, due to it's closer them and spend my days with her and not at camp. Most of Washington campgrounds are in the trees anyway.

No doubt RV parks are not camping. However, if you travel the country using your rig as a mobile condo, it’s hard to beat all the power and water you are used to using at home. We also try to limit our RV park stays to concrete pads so we aren’t tracking dirt into our rig not to mention the blowing dust that coats everything. Which is best? Two totally different experiences with two totally different purposes. Both have pluses and minuses.

On demand water heater. Keep soapy water in a plastic dish pan to place your daily dishes in & 1x wash per evening. Your peanut butter spoon can be wiped off. Keep a spray bottle of vinegar water to spray lightly used dishes & utensils. Spray & wipe, no need to do the sink washing ritual & saves water. Dry shampoo your hair every other or 3rd day, this helps with not washing a few days/week. ( If you don't want to use can spray shampoo, use baby powder, lightly sprinkle & massage lightly in, other powders work as well)

LOVE your channel. I live in Sonoma County California and enjoy both types of camping, but prefer boondocking. Every summer we travel to Northeast Oregon where we camp with my wife's family in an RV park with FHU's and travel to the Salt Lake area of Utah to boondock with my family. There are definitely pros and cons of both. Boondocking requires more planning and management of resources, but offers far better rewards considering the isolation with nature. With a family of 6, water can be an issue. I currently have six 7 gallon water containers and an electric pump. When the water in the camper runs low, I pump the 42 gallons into the camper. I then drive out to fill the water containers back up with potable water. Thank you for the videos. I will begin my full time life on the road in 6 years when I retire.

While boondocking locations are free, there can be substantial upfront costs to do it comfortably or for longer periods of time. I agree with your overall comments of advantages and disadvantages to boondocking. I do disagree though calling it "free". The cost of set-up (solar panels, installation costs, Lithium batteries, power converter, poo-dolly and waterbed portable water mattress) and other related items certainly offset calling boondocking "free". That said - I get it. The views, peaceful surroundings, etc - it's all worth it. I just can't understand regarding it as free. Rent free for sure. But not Free. in your case I would regard the set up costs as rather substantial (approaching the cost of Thousand Trails membership level) costs.

IMO, the central issue with Boondocking, is it takes more preparation and lifestyle adjustments over an RV park. I'd recommend starting out at an RV park, or a couple parks at first, as you learn the ropes, ensure you're properly equipped, everything works, etc. I had so many little things to fix or upgrade the first few months.

I'm totally new to this don't even get mine for a month and half. Are there different types of parks. Because I can't see enjoying being packed in like that. Been enjoying your videos.

I was just curious. What is the gross weight of your truck, and RV one towing. And what kind of miles per gallon do you get, in what type of terrain?

Hey looking to nomad internet from what I hear and what I've seen you can pretty much get internet anywhere

Nomad internet and similar companies rely on cell coverage to deliver a signal to your rv. Look for satellite technology from companies like StarLink and Project Kuiper (Amazon's soon to be satellite internet) for truly off the grid, high speed internet.

Boondocking!!! But We do like to refuel/dump and fill, at Thousand trails RV camps. Then back out! But we really enjoy the Free Entertainment, you don’t get at in the boonies. 🤣🤣🤣 Cheri, take care of the thumb. Alcoholic drinks, will help the swelling go down. Well at least it will make you feel like the swelling has gone down. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Sandra Westley from the UK can you not water the plants with you grey water, we used to do that a few years back, it was quite permissible to do that ,most plants are crying out for water.
