That makes sense. I would love to see one of these games go the way of T1 spam.

- If the joes spammed scouts or light infantry at the start of these games consistently to stop the pros from expanding these games probably wouldn't ever go to the pros. Maybe, depends on whether the pros know how to porc or not. Game can very quickly turn into a tower defence where the pros construct a basic defence that the joes don't know how to break (It really doesn't take much at all, if you know what you're doing) and the joes' efforts are essentially reduced to metal donations to the pros. Pros can generally also scale t2 eco *much* faster than joes, so they don't need to hold much of the map at all to be able to secure the late game.

See 8:44 - vagan attacks initially with 12 pawns, then another 7, takes out 2 llt, 2 mex, 1 constructor, 1 thug. That's about 1k metal spent to kill about 500. Another 5 pawns come by, 2 die without dealing any damage. And, on top of this, Flaka still had enough army and defences to secure the wrecks - which I'd estimate to be around 300-500 metal. So, best case scenario - Flaka 1100, vagan 200. (Not to mention the pawns cost WAY more energy than any of the units Flaka built)

bean_dip follows it up with his 6 pawns killing 1 grunt.

Individually though they are all weaker than the team of two. Even at the beginning. It would require serious coordination to leverage their starting position. Each has 1/5 of the available resources while the other team has 1/2.

@@Cronchychomp honestly surprised you aren't running 200k+ subs man. I'm pretty keen on streamers and personality and I won't be surprised if your stuff doesn't blow up. Keep at it man. You're gold. I said the same thing about Forcegaming 10 years ago. I don't say it often either.

Honestly I'm no strategic mastermind, but grunts and pawns are always a safe bet for opening units. BAR will feel a bit slower compared to other PA inspired games, as the unit scale tends to be a bit smaller.

Thank you! If I could ask, how do you find games on PTA? Last time I checked I couldn't find a game after 30 minutes of matchmaking.

@@Cronchychomp Pretty decent to be honest, but it depends on time of day. If it is a 1v1 ranked game I normally dont need to wait more than 2-3 minutes for matchmaking (it selects people similar to your rank - its rare that you get Star vs Bronze!) I usually play at around 10am or 8-9pm GMT. Multiplayer games are much much busier at 9-10pm GMT and overnight as the Americans are online and there will be multiple (in the 10s) large multiplayer games up. A 3v3 lobby will usually fill within 10-15minutes during quiet hours though? I do feel that the community is alive and well on the game as it is still receiving updates by the devs so its not dead by any means. How long ago did you last check? Would be interesting to see a cast from you on it ;)

It was before the last QoL update. The one they put out after having a decent amount of quiet time. I've been considering casting it! Maybe soon.

This is the case when both team hold 50 percent of the map. But if u have more people u can expand faster, build more units, having more builpower and so on. When the bigger team gets only 50 percent of the map, they already have done mistakes.

First of all don’t use avast it’s a semi decent antivirus software but anything that isn’t from steam or epic games or anything like that it won’t let you download and try checking to see if your profile on windows is admin cuz then you’ll be able to override avast saying it’s a malware and also make sure your downloading the game from the website cuz it could very well be a malware

Indeed, I think they're topping the list on my least favorite units.

I would disagree heartily! If that's the way you want to play then that's great, but taking offensive and defensive actions early on is a key part of base-building RTS games.

@Cronchychomp The advantage will always be with whomever can build the fastest. It becomes a race instead of a war. But yeah its just my friends and I preferred way of playing. We have done the truce thing since way back to Command and Conquer and we've had a blast! lol It's a different game when you know you are going up against a base and player with units and defense in place! That's when strategy comes into play. This one time we were playing C&C and I faked an assault on my friends base to the north to get his units to move up from the south where his base was weakest and when they did, my real attact started in the south. It was glorious!

That's awesome! Cool moments like that are always memorable. Not sure if it would be your jam but Total War games lets you start out with huge armies, and I would definitely recommend the older games in the series.
