In New York, Trump has been charged with 34 felony counts of falsifying business documents related to payments made to adult film star Stormy Daniels. The falsification charges concern the alleged mislabelling of repayments that Trump made to his lawyer Michael Cohen, who had paid $130,000 to Daniels in return for her silence over an alleged sexual encounter with Trump. For the felony charges to stick, prosecutors must persuade the jury that the misrepresentations were done with the intent to commit or cover up another crime.

@@zenobiaookpik If they took the EVIDENCE to the grand jury and those citizens found it fit the crime you were being charged with, you would be indicted. You would then go to trial before another jury. If they found the evidence supported the crime, you would be found guilty. If they didn’t, you would be found not guilty. It’s very simple. Trump is on trial because the charge was made and evidence supported the charge. The grand jury did its job. We wait for the trial jurors to do their job.

Donald Trump has already come out on this Openly, stating it was recorded as a "Legal-Expense". Prosecution wants to challenge this, though(As-Usual) they have Zero-Proof of any wrongdoing. I think you may be confusing crime with evidence. They can identify crimes and press charges all they want, but without evidence, there is no crime. It's really that simple. I know this first-hand, because I myself have been brought to trial on fraudulent charges. They found me innocent because there was no evidence of a crime being committed by me. You can cry "crime" all you want, but it doesn't make it so. Evidence is what makes it a crime. And that's up to the prosecutors, who have thus far failed to prove a crime was committed.

This trial is to prove the facts they’ve collected. From what I’ve gathered there is deep paper trail and checks written as “business expenses” to Cohan to silence individuals. And testimony from several. As silly as those charges may seem to lot of folks, campaigns have their own set of laws they need to follow in order to have a fair election.
