Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers among men over the age of 65 with many men having to undergo a PSA test to screen for this cancer. In this video, Mr Simon Brewster explains exactly what the test is, why it's so important to have it done and what would happen if the test discovers you have abnormal levels of PSA in your blood.
Mr Simon Brewster is a consultant urological surgeon with 25 years' experience of clinical practice in urology. To book an appointment with him, visit his Top Doctors profile: www.topdoctors.co.uk/doctor/s...

I have little respect for doctors! I will never forget being told I was dying from prostate cancer and three months later I ran the 100th running of the Boston marathon! That was 27 years ago! I’m not dead yet. Doctors need to look at a particular word. Science!!!

Do not do a biopsy insist upon an MRI prostate test instead as it’s much less invasive much more accurate and the only reason urologist wants to do a biopsy is because he makes a small fortune on each patient and makes nothing on the MRI. the MRI is much more accurate and non-invasive!

@@lindaweston4172 had both of what? Why? You do know that there are 20 reasons for an elevated PSA and cancer is only one of them. You should also know the man that invented the PSA scale says it’s not accurate and not to be use the way it is used.

@@docbrady6397 I just had a psa test andit came back at 14. Doc wants to do a biopsy. I want an MRI but he says waiting list is long and often times it doesn't show anything.

@@schmingusss it’s all about money. Shouldn’t take you more than a few days to get your MRI done. First of all if your mass is cancerous and they do a biopsy of it you spread that cancer over your whole system. Common sense tells you a biopsies a bad idea.
