Unfortunately, most psycho-social and economic support is focused on men older than age 60. Younger men face relationship, workplace and family challenges that older men may not. Faces of Prostate Cancer is a brilliant film made by men who were diagnosed and treated during the prime of their lives. Though made in Denmark, these men share stories that are truly universal. I was diagnosed at age 44, PSA 120. Had a radical prostatectomy, Hormone therapy, Chemotherapy & Radiotherapy & many more complications. It's not fun, but I'm still here. NOT just an 'old mans' disease!

I was diagnosed with prostate cancer at 57. No symptoms, even though the cancer was already in the final stage before spreading. Without regular PSA testing, I wouldn't have known my PSA was rising, and I would have faced a terminal diagnosis. My dad was diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer 22-months after my own diagnosis. Also no symptoms, but cancer has spread.

I was diagnosed at age 47 Stage T3B and T3A Psa 2.7. I had a Radical prostatectomy and 1 month of Hormone therapy, I was meant to have 6 months plus Radiotherapy but it was part of a trial and I refused the Radiotherapy so my Hormone Therapy was stopped as well as it was not offered on the NHS at the time in my area. I was offered annual PSA checks instead but I am still here 5 years later.

I am so happy to hear stories like yours where the cancer is diagnosed at such an early stage that very effective treatment is possible. If your PSA remains undetectable you may very well have been cured.
