A lot of tutorials say things like "you should know that by now, so we won't go into it", or just don't see it necessary to cover basics. It's really good that you don't do that because everyone has gaps in knowledge or weren't taught things well or whatever. Especially in something like healthcare where everything we do has such significant implications, people are very often afraid to ask things that they "should know by now". So don't stop doing what you're doing!

Hi. You mentioned in part of you video(6:07) thinnest gingival tissue is lingual molars and facial premolars. I read it the thinnest part of gingival is around Maxillary canine and I assum is the same around Mn Canine as well. Could you please confirm this ? Thx in advance for your help. I love your videos.

Could you explain the last slide? What do you mean by cusp-marginal ridge and cusp-fossa?
@mentaldental
@mentaldental 5 лет назад
Sure! Sorry for rushing through that last slide. The cusp to fossa scheme is when mandibular buccal cusps contact in maxillary fossa. The cusp to marginal ridge scheme is when mandibular buccal cusps contact in maxillary marginal ridges. It's a subtle difference--each one has their pros and cons, and crowns should be designed in the occlusal scheme that produces the best function and esthetics, which really can only be determined by trial and error through a diagnostic wax-up.

Decks 2016-2017 says: "Occlusal point contacts between opposing teeth are preferred to broad, flat occlusal contacts to prevent wear" ("point contacts" is bolded)
