Megan the Stallion, Rho Bashe, Breonna Taylor and the countless other black women placed in harm's way or unalived within a system that doesn't care about their justice. Both in the court of law and the court of public opinion. I wanted to say “protect black women” and say it loudly. I wanted to say Protect Black B*tches to include the women we have long viewed as undesirable or desirable only as seggs objects and unworthy of protection. I wanted to exclaim for as many ears to hear “”Protect ALL Black women”!!! Black trans women, black poor women, black fat women. ALL Black Women. And really ALL Women Period! My deepest gratitude to ‪@MsVixen‬ and my good friend corey for lending me their stories and perspectives.

@@SaleemMusawwir She (the black woman) has to be strong and independent. Child Sexual abuse is rampant amongst black community, especially for young girls what's your excuse for not protecting them? The femicide rate for black women is the highest amongst all racial communities, in fact a black woman is more likely to be killed while pregnant. What's your excuse for not protecting those unborn babies? Black men kill black women and girls more than any other group kills them, so who should these black women and girls rely on when the black community has proven time and time again that no one will protect black women and girls? You see the stats of 1 in 4 black GIRLS are sexually abused, and really think black women should continue to be weak and helpless so that they can continue to be abused? This is why it's evident, men are not natural born protectors, or providers. They are natural born predators, so why would the most common victim of black male crimes want to be anything but strong and independent? Your ability and want to protect is based on a condition of a woman or girl fulfilling your gender role fantasy. I hate to break it to you, but no woman with common sense is going to be vulnerable and dependent on a man who doesn't prove first he is a safe person. Y'all love to tell black women to choose better, but then want us to act helpless to any and every male to receive respect and protection. It makes no sense, to choose better means to be selective in who we place our hearts, no man wants a wife who is vulnerable with every single man. Lastly, you're a wicked person if your ability to do the right thing is conditional. Helping and protecting others is the morally right thing to do regardless of gender or relationship, however studies show women are more likely to help others in need, while men are more likely to suffer from bystanders effect. It seems it's not a matter of women being strong and independent, but men like you being too weak to stand up for what's the morally right thing to do. So men like yourself make excuses for why you are wicked and watch evil be done upon others. Edit: And before you decide I'm just a black woman who will die alone, I married outside the black community because the black community has too many black men like yourself and not enough good black men to go around. Black men like yourself are the one's dying alone, bodies going unclaimed in the morgues, no one wanting to visit y'all while you're in hospice, much less noticing when you're finally gone. Y'all spend so much energy on your hate for black women, that you die alone without the support of anyone. Black women will be fine, I found myself a non-black man to protect and respect me, but you will never be able to be a protector and provider as you will always be waiting for an impossible scenario (a woman who will give you her heart without you proving you are safe for her to do so)

That’s a father, husband/boyfriend, or sons’ job. We’re not getting killed for women who treat us less than because we’re black or not black enough. When yall cause many the problems and lie but to avoid accountability. I don’t hate women. I just hate how they want protection but don’t know how to respect their men.

When I say protect ALL Black Women, I simply mean stop hurting us. Stop k-lling us. Stop r-ping us. Stop as-aulting us. Stop ab-sing us. It seems so simple to me to just let Black Women be. I honestly don't need protection as much as I just need to be left alone. The only reason why "Protect Black Women" is a thing is because there are so many people who make it their life's mission to harm us. And every time we say "Protect Black Women" there is someone (usually a Black Man) who pushes against that by saying that we need to "earn" protection (usually with sex). But when I say "Stop K-lling Us" then there is less push back. Because who in their right mind is going to say "You all have to *earn* the right to not be k-lled."?

Let these young ladies live. Hip Hop being raunchy is nothing new and won't go away because people start grasping at their pearls.

I just find it crazy that you guys have this sentiment. When in reality this is not how you guys feel. You'll continue to pick and choose who you want to protect. For example, Nicki. Was abused by Meek Mill, had her home swatted twice with a two year old inside, was attacked for making it to the age of 40, was fat shamed a year after giving birth, and when her father got hit by a car and died almost no outlet cared. Yet, I'm supposed to believe that any of you people want all black woman protected. To use someone as an example in the video who lied and omitted multiple key details about an event. Including who was the actual shooter that injured her. Yikes...

I just read two articles about young black women being murdered by the men they were involved with. One was killed right after speaking on the violence against black women, by the man she was dating. She has a 6 year old son. The other young woman was killed by her son's father. Then they have the mysterious deaths of the two black models in LA, and there's possibly a third black model victim. The police believe the cases are connected and a serial killer on the loose. There's been so many news reports/segments about black women being killed just for rejecting a man's offer to date them. So many women get on social media and tell their stories of how they were assaulted. Which is why I can't understand how men downplay black women's concerns about the violence against them. Thank you Herby for your commentary. I truly enjoy the theatrics and dramatic flare of it all👍🏿

Wait, wait, wait…Baby who are you? And why am I just coming across your channel? Your comedic approach to this endemic issue within our community caught my 👀. Having lighthearted moments but serving facts and bringing a different angle to such a huge problem. Shout out to Kimberlé Crenshaw intersectionality with black women between racism and sexism. That gave perspective on different angles simultaneously creating these precarious situations for black women. Let me sit back and continue to watch and hear more to what you have to say about this issue.

Come to think about it one could link respectability politics and protection to that of certain religions, particularly Christianity, many people who Christians or ex- Christians have talked about how if you sin you are going to hell( Jesus is not going to claim you or Jesus is not going to protect you) this relates to how people say if you wear those clothes or do certain things or act a certain way no one is going to protect you and like you said, no one is going to advocate for you.

yea i'ma go with a hard NO for sexy red. this girl got a lip gloss called gonorrhea..issa not for me. btw.. just because you don't vibe with someone's choice of expression, doesn't mean you're jealous. regardless...All black women need to be protected. the right to just be, without violence launched against you shouldn't be contingent on chastity.

HI herby im so happy you talked about this because i am victim of getting SA'ed and this is the story. i was trying to find a job desperately because me and my mother needed it bad and then i found a job at homegoods and this is when the world was on shutdown but i felt i had to get a job and then i walked down the street in a very modest looking outfit no breast showing no pants and i had a face mask and glasses on and the whole time when i was on the bus i got harassed to the point where this boy ripped my mask off my face because i wouldn't talk to him and he kept telling me that i won't r#pe you and i won't hurt you while the man was literally doing that to me like assaulting me and harassing me and then when i went to work literally wailing uncontrollably everyone victim blamed me like the black men victim blamed me and i had so many stories of being unprotected by black men and i wear modest clothing

5:57 I’m confused, sexy red archetype has always existed in media, why is it a thing now? I love her and the women like her but she’s not the first😂. Why is everyone acting like this is new?

Protect ALL Black Women!!! Women are way more than the sum of our parts, we are more than politics, we are fully human and therefore deserving of humanity. Often times we are denied even that much. Trans Black women are constantly punched down on in frustration and at this point we need a HARSH course correction. Ciswomen owe so much to transwomen and we've paid them worse than dust... It's truly shameful.

Thank you for pointing out that that Malcom X clip can also be critiqued. It was also couched in patriarchy. If you watch the full speech it was about Black manhood and he was arguing that Black men would never be respected until they protected Black women so they needed to protect Black women to assert their manhood. Which…I actually don’t have a huge problem with as a step on the way but it’s still not about Black womens autonomy and just being worthy of safety from harm as whole beings not as symbols of someone else’s value and worth and courage, or lack thereof.

ETA: Protect all Black women! So it seems like the culture is that folks only respect when they get something back. Many of the videos you shared were harrowing. The Sukihana was SO disturbing, though, in that my mind went to the fact that this man could have graped that woman on the table. And the men there seem like they would have just twiddled their thumbs. And the 'author' in the 70's who 'practiced' SV on Black women who looked forward to debasing wyte women. Of course, Meg is lucky to be alive. Ugh! It's so hurtful.
