Humans die-off too early, the young repeat what others learned hundreds of years ago. Man has progressed way too slow and is doomed for extinction. Really? And what would you have? Oceans overpopulated with fish but with hardly any food so they starve and die? A 5 year old Haddock in Iceland is around 2kg. A 5 year old Haddock where Greenpeace dump rocks is 500grams. Go figure….

Not really to sustain a family but if you really worry about this then you can eat pleagic fish or sardines (if you mind the smell) but most shellfish are caught sustainably but if you are in uk or Europe if there is a little blue MSC badge that means that the fish is caught safely and sustainably

Actually most of what seaspiracy says is true because most of the information . Another thing is and was a way to catch fish located near the ocean floor. Smaller businesses like local fishermen who catch by gear and not commercial fishing boats and nets are a more friendly alternative. Considering we also live in 2022 and some people have full time jobs being local fishermen and we have plenty of food options and variety provided there should be enough fish from local fishermen for them to be an alternative (even if these local small businesses are not near you they most likely have shipping methods). Keep in mind trawling practices have been harming local fishermen all around the world so any industry who is apart of trawling probably won't be able to adjust their industries or even find new methods because the thing these fishing companies are all about is making money and cutting corners, they DO NOT and will not probably ever care about the environment. p.s my fellow seaspiracy fans probably know that seaspiracy touches down on the effects trawlers have on Africa and their local fishers and how illegal trawlers have contributed to the problems with hunger in Africa.

I don’t think they are as trawlers don’t go over coral because the nets would be destroyed and there are boxes that trawlers cannot go through so ye your stupid and just judging them 😂😂😂😂

There are sand dwelling organisms and shellfish that live in those areas and are just as important not to mention that there is still massive amounts of by-catch. Only the gullible would listen to a big fishing company.

Sardines do not come from bottom trawling they come from most likely small boats which use nets that get no by catch and the nets do not touch the seabed but try to buy any type of fish that has a blue MSC label this insures that the fish is caught safely and sustainably eat well my friend

@@stephencurry3502 I believed and still do believe that too many people complain but do very little. People just need to reduce their meat intake to make a really meaningful change. Yeh they probably do reduce the fish they eat. Maybe I was a little harsh. That's cool man, I think we could all be much healthier as a society if we ate more vegetables and fruit, maybe even used more natural medicines.. Plants being the only source of antioxidants(fruits, vegetables, herbs and spices) and then you have all the abundance of vitamins/minerals on top of that. Sound like hippy shit but it has its basis in science/biology.

If your catching demersal species like Cod Haddock Plaice Halibut you need a net that can fish on the bottom.

If you watch David Attenbourgh he’s always going on about nutrients being stirred up from the seabed by tides and storms to start a new chain of life. Trawling does the same thing

Exactly. And also the sea needs to be fished, otherwise stocks become out of control and eats up all the feed, then the stock starves and dies. This happened in Canada recently 90% of the Crab population died in one year through starvation.
