The language is Papiamento, an Afro-Portuguese creole spoken mostly in Curaçao, Aruba, and Bonaire, former Dutch (i.e. from The Netherlands, not Germany or Denmark) colonies in the Caribbean. I heard this song on TV when I was a child, or perhaps a teenager. It seemed like it should be accompanied by a kwarta or ukulele, but I'm not very good at the uke, so I created this kwarta/uke-inspired arrangement and sang it. If you know whose song this is, please let me know so I can give credit. In any case, please do your part to make and keep our environment healthy!
