Definitely think it should be about “Protecting Your Rabbits From Wires” I know a lot of people struggle not me personally but yah it would be helpful for lots of bun moms and dads!
Please do carpets for an ep, I'm having trouble with my rabbit digging at my carpet and trying to chew it, it would be very helpful if you could make one on bunny proofing carpets or tips on stopping your rabbit from digging/chewing your Carpet!
Morgan! Morgan! Morgan! You have outdone yourself again! Videos like this are so incredibly important to the bunny community. You are much appreciated. Thank you for your hard work. We totally get by with just packing tape on our baseboards. Our buns never touch them. But we give them plenty of hay, corrugated cardboard cat scratchers, apple wood sticks, and empty toilet rolls to chew on. Also, your hair looks absolutely fantastic!!!
this new cinnabun series is fire and very educational and I think the next episode should be about protecting carpets and how to control chewing on fabric furniture
You can also cut a lemon in half and rub it on the baseboards or edges of anything. It works great for our bunny who is a 100% free roamer for 9 years already. Make sure you give them plenty of their own chewing items.
I did the powder coat aluminium angle, not cheap but indestructible, one time spend but never have to worry again, she can’t even scratch the paint, Perfect 👍🏻
Sadly, none of these have worked with my buns 🙃 the tape worked for 2 days then they just didn't care anymore, kept chewing through it or would just pull it off (let me tell you, it's not fun when they decide to lay in it & already hate being picked up as is) The bumpers 2 things happened, either would roll up on its own or the bunnies would just rip it off. The spray was not effective either. We ended up just buying thick PVC corners & nailing them to our baseboards since they were destroyed anyways. Not the best look but beats the look of chewed up baseboards lol Great video, I just think my buns are difficult!
Same with my bunnies 😅 Tape had no effect, nor did any bad tasting things from the kitchen.. What I've found to work for the little termites is covering the baseboards with a second baseboard that they can chew all they want 🤣 I used two sided tape to attach them so i wouldn't leave any marks on the original baseboard. My method doesn't look great of course but I'm more concerned about keeping the landlord happy
@@essihuhta7476 @savannahrider-davis9018 Same and same! Spray did nothing. Silicone he will just rip off (he did it with the cord covers so I am assuming based on this behavior), and I am also worried about him chewing pieces off and ingesting it, and I feel the same with the tape! It appears we have particularly determined bunnies. Yay us, LOL
So glad I found this channel, I’m a new bunny mom trying to let my Mini Lop free roam and she JUST started exploring on her own yesterday🥹 thank you for all the helpful videos, you’re a life saver!!
This weekend I will be getting a baby bunny, it is going to be a free roam, so I will tell my mom the baseboard tape method. Maybe the spray method to.
1. ask someone like a older sibling to help or member 2. Make a playlist for song that makes you feel energized 3. Try to make a reward for yourself when you do it We all have these days but the best thing to do it just push through
i try to keep their area tidy throughout the day (ie: sweep the poop and hay as soon as i see it) so when it’s time to change their litter box, it isn’t too much work. i also line their box with puppy pads so it’s super quick to pickup and toss. i have two bins right next to their area with litter and hay so i can refill right there. all of these steps make cleanup a breeze and helps me stay on top of it !
plus the palm leaf bowls! Morgan recommended them in some previous video and my bunny is OBSESSED with them. and i speak this as an owner of a bunny with minor teeth issuses. they work perfectly. (ilysm Morgan for the tip me and my bun will be grateful forever! 💕)
Can you please do carpet? My rabbit loves to dig carpet and pull the fibers out, doesn’t help that my carpet looks like grass too. I rent and haven’t free roamed him in the entire house for this reason. I do free roam him in my room which is all bunny proofed.
This is my dilemma. The bitter apple spray: my Cosmo does not care and chews anyway The tape: I am afraid he will injest the tape and the same goes for the silicone bumper - afraid he will ingest plastic tape or silicone! Any input is appreciated please : )
Great video! My bunny has bitten lots of base boards in my house. Do you know what the best way would be to repair them? How to touch up the bite marks? I’ve been told to replace them all. Thanks!
I tried all methods with my bun and my results were different... Tape never stopped her. She just tore it and continue to chew wood. Plastic protectors worked, but she chewed a lot from them and I don't think plastic is good for her health. Bitter apple actually worked, but only for 3 days. So after some trial and error I settled at stainless steel foil tape (and of course I've done repair with putty on bitten parts). She tried, but wasn't able to bite throw. Looks mediocre at best tho... But after she got used to the fact those corners and baseboards are un-chewable, I put nice vinyl sheets on top of foil, which actually made baseboards look better than before.
I have a spray called "Bitter Cherry" Which does bunny proof my cords and wires but only for a few hours before it has to be re-applied. I definitely have cord protectors so that's twice the protection 'cuz bun-bun even chews through those over time if I'm not vigilant. I'm curious about taping my cords now to see if it just ass effective as taping baseboards.
I suspect that the reason why you have to re-apply the spray so often is because your bunny is licking it off! Bitter taste doesn’t stop buns from chewing at all. They enjoy bitter herbs/plants, for example simple dandelion - a very popular bunny snack. I recommend you buying cord protectors or make your own d-i-y ones, you can use the simplest things like cardboard boxes. Hope it helps!
I tried these methods apple spray works until the smell goes away a couple minutes later the tape looks ridiculous and was hard to keep on the wall for long periods of time plus my rabbit just ate pieces of the tape anyway you just learned to take small bites and I didn't want him getting stasis so also didn't work
If your bunny ate a little bit of paint and they are still acting normal they should be fine, but it is always better to not let them eat paint. if your bunny ever eats a tiny amount of paint, plastic or rubber and they are acting normal afterwards they should be okay, But if they ate A LOT at once it can be deadly, So it is always best to try to keep these things away from them.
Love your videos. Unrelated but would love some advice. I'm trying to get my bunny to free roam and recently switched the litterbox im using for her (before it was one of those very small ones from amazon which wasn't great but did the job for when she was small). I'm currently using a pet carrier, but the issue is that she keeps eating the disposable pad im using on the floor of it, this wasn't a problem before because there were bars on the old one that blocked her from even touching the pads. I've tried tucking the siding of it between the top and bottom halves of the carrier, using a trashbag as the base, using two pads, and just laying it down and folding the extra material under it but she keeps eating it and idk what to do. I also have hay in there for her to eat but half the time she doesnt care abt it and will just go for the pad😭😭😭
I use binder clips to keep the pads clinging to the litter box! Unless you have a very determined bun, this should work, since it doesn’t make the pad stick out and easy to nibble
Hi,I might be getting a bunny in four days but I have school in September 13th and I go to school at 8 AM and come home at 12 PM,should I get the bunny?
You are great with bunny’s my sister is 12 and we are learning all about bunny’s the names are olive and opal ❤ my name is Molly my sisters name is mckanzy❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hi there, I had a pair of baby bunnies and they were about to be 2 months old. Last week I kissed them goodnight like every night and in the morning I found one of them dead. I and the other baby bunny freaked out and I didn't understand the reason. The only thing odd was that the bunny's poop the last day was a little wet but he was eating and behaving just fine. Can anyone help me understand what could be the reason?
My God my male bunny neutered so that he'd stop chewing baseboards you did for a while probably like a year and then just decided to start doing it the whole upper level has been ruined and we rent so I have to replace it 😫 we also for that year had grids up all around the upstairs and because he wasn't chewing in between grids which he could have we took them down (after that year of no chewing walls/baseboards) the biggest mistake
But she will chew on the tape that you stuck to the board on day 2 - surely that's not safe? Why are so many of your videos on destruction to your home, have you tried more chew toys?
personally my bunnies have a lot of chew toys, but they don't really care about them. one of my bunnies strangely doesn't chew anything besides hay and sometimes wood sticks, but the other one is pretty destructive, and apparently she'd rather chew the baseboards or the doors than the toys I get her. I think no matter how many different types of toys you get them, if chewing baseboards is an option, they will try it at some point! and all bunnies are different, no solution is universal, I think Morgan is making a lot of videos about destruction to help in as much situations as possible!
@@flaminem Perhaps, and yes I agree no 2 Buns are the same, my worry was the packing tape but also a lot of videos about destruction may put people off getting Buns.
@@flaminem also. have you seen Morgan's video from few months ago where she says she punishes Cinnabun for 'time out' in a small pen for simply chewing furniture or things around the home, including a seagrass basket in the living room (which even rabbit toys are made of!). you say to me that some rabbits do this naturally as yours does with baseboards etc, if so why should they be punished for it! And so many recent vids are about Cinnabun destroying her home. Having a rabbit is a joy and a challenge but she needs to lighten up a bit! The poor bun!
@@bunnyandme2990 no I don't remember seeing this video! I don't really know what to think about the punishing thing... rabbits are not dogs, even though they can be trained to do a lot of things, I don't think they would learn anything from being punished... I don't really mind her doing videos about destruction, because it helps me protecting both my bunnies and the flat I'm renting. And since a lot of people are adopting bunnies without doing proper research beforehand and then dumping them in the wild because it is too much responsibility, maybe it can help a little with that? more people can learn what to expect if they get a rabbit, and understand that it's not for them before getting one! But I agree with you, owning a rabbit brings more joy and love than destruction, it would be nice to see more happy videos! (sorry if my writing seems confusing, english is not my first language!)
