Dont heat your discus tank with a single high powered heater. If the heater fails they quickly go cold or worse the tank gets to 36 degs and they all die.
Top discus fish tip is to use two heaters that are half the total rating you need (1W per litre). The minimises the chance and impact of any issues. In three years all of the aquarium equipmant fails have been heater issues.

Great advice, I do the same with everything, multiple types of filtration, multiple UVs, everything. Redundancy is key something will always fail, so always run multiples !

I go with Ehiem heaters and the ink bird system. No more heater problems for me 😊.

Hey what did you use for clamped gills? i seen the movie you put in for gill flukes

One had a close gill. Sometimes they extend a gill. You can use praziquantel or flubendazole. I think fluke solve is prazi. I have tried both before. Both work but the flukes seem to have a way of coming back somehow. Some people just treat monthly.

Hi I’ve gone through two d-d heater 650watt on a d-d thermostat in 3 years never again I’ve now just brought two EHEIM THERMOSTAT JAGER 300 watt….d-d don’t see the hipe I’m still using the d-d uv steriliser can not fault that but there heater are poo….

Yes Im on two Eheims now and no problems for quite a while. Shame, I think the Titanium name made me think they were bullet proof.

I've got the D-D 650 Titanium and had no issues, think a lot of the time it's down to bad luck. In the sump there's a TMC 300 set to 27 so never kicked in but it's there just in case
