I purchased mine approx a year or so ago. It has gone thru travel and about 150 plus shows. It definitely has been road tested. The plus is the direct contact protection of the fm9 shell and windows. What I find is it doesn't protect from spills as the openings for the control knobs are exposed, in addition to someone accidentally shearing the knobs. Its not expected to nor claims it does just my transparency to those having questions. If u perform outside, as I do on many shows here in Florida, particles do work their way in between the sheild an unit. Again just an info for those. My only genuine issue on the sheild and this may be just isolated to me, the tiny magnets that hold it to the fm9 come loose and separate from the sheild. I've pulled my sheild off to clean the fm9 and sheild an noticed a few magnets separated and stayed on the fm9 by themselves. They are super tiny an easy to lose, worse fall where you may not want them. Overall a very good sheild protector for basic direct impact, and it looks cool. Good review Zach.
Thank you very much!! I'll keep these points in mind. While no "perfect solution" really exists we make the best with what we have and for the use purpose we have 😄 For weddings this works well as no drinks are allowed on the dance floor!!
It's funny you mention that, I've talked to other musicians, teachers and content creators recently and we've noticed our voices going up over time due to how much more we talk and use our voices over time vs a normal person. When you're singing at 50-100 shows a year, shooting 50-100 videos a year, and teaching 20+ students a week you just use your voice more often than a regular person. It gets worn and looses low end. Graham Stephan noticed this too on a recent podcast.
