I was gonna say did he really play the whole game at 2x speed because of that bug? Because that is hilarious. For anyone else getting that bug the games speed is tied to frame rate so you need to lock your fps to 60 or 70 in the NVIDIA control panel

@@MrXmasspirit Considering the game makes you walk back and forth between locations and grind for side quests, I would gladly let it run at 2x speed.

@@dylanhughes8457 It makes it a lot easier to deal with physics of a game if you know the hardware will only ever be 60 fps (aka PS5) so it's just a shitty port. (Not saying that PS5 is bad, just that it have a hard cap on 60fps)

That's not entirely accurate. NieR RepliCant (brother version) and NieR Gestalt (dad version) simultaneously released for the PS3 and 360, respectively, in Japan. Gestalt was the version we got localized in the west for both systems because the team figured western audiences would better resonate with a father/daughter relationship. Because Microsoft systems always underperform in Japan, RepliCant was the version most Japanese players played. It ended up being the canonical version for Automata largely for that reason, but neither released before the other.

This is partially true. Japan got both versions of the game (known as Gestalt and Replicant) but originally only Gestalt was brought to the west as Nier. You're right that Gestalt was the only one localized due to thinking the western market wouldn't like the younger main character.

If he does all the endings (as he should) it'd probably be longer than that without some serious editing.

I had ps3 and the original You play as her dad. The big dude. I think this is the remake of the Japanese version. Game seems to be exactly the same.

Replicant versus gestalt. Gestalt was the western release where they changed the mc to an older man saving his daughter to appeal to western audiences. Replicant here is the og japanese version with the older brother mc instead.
