UPVC installers and builders in my opinion sometimes don't finish your window off properly. They tend to leave the metal lintel exposed. If not treated, this will corrode and rust leading to your bricks becoming displaced above your window. It can look really nasty and it can also be quite costly to repair. My fix is quick, easy and cheap, don't be afraid to have a go. Or, better still make sure your UPVC installer doesn't leave before protecting your lintels, they are precious!! :-)
