I think that the low porosity line isn't a line to replace your other shampoo and conditioner I feel like you rotate this line on wash days. For example, if you wash your hair every week on Sunday and you want to choice a cleanser and conditioner, one Sunday you use the low porosity line. The next Sunday use another SheaMoisture line that has medium to light protein in it, like the on Shlinda1 recommended. B/c I think everyone needs protein just to a certain degree/amount.

I love the shea moisture jbco shampoo but I've gone from using weekly to once a month to clarify. Next I like the Superfruit complex conditioner to detangle and the masque to deep condition. I like the manuka honey conditioner for my leave in spray that I mix with water and grapeseed oil. Keeps that bomb ass scent in my hair during the week. The shampoo and deep conditioner are great. My hair is the most moisturized it's been since I started transition. I didn't care too much for the jbco leave in or the deep conditioner. Crazy since I love the shampoo so much. Thanks for sharing Shalinda. You are saving my journey.

I'm low porosity natural and I love the Curlific deep conditioner by Aphogee. My hair also loves all things aloe vera. I have never tried the shea moisture Jamaican Black Castor DC but I will this week. Thanks for the recommendations.

The protein stick to the outside and strengthens the hair cuticle. It only enters the holes in your hair strands.

hi.. I'm supposed to be low porosity by the strand test but my hair loves protein & super strong since I've been using henna & amla. it sheds still but no breakage. anyone experiencing breakage should give it a try cuz it might help. I use a tbl of henna & tsp of amla with 4 tbl of each oil used.

The tea can last upto a week &half in the fridge & as long as you are moisturising your hair you are able to use it as often as you moisturise normally.. I used to spitz everyday with a little 50p piece size of moisturiser or flex seed gel if my hair was loose. Or id use it once a week while my hair was in natural twists. I hope this helps & answers your question. Blessings to you. Or i'd use a mask with henna, Amla & rose powder with something else... I'll share the video I used years ago for the mask.. I'd only do the mask once a month & leave it in for an hour.

Keratin is the most compatible protein to hair since hair is keratin + water. When I was colored years ago, I used different protein types including egg, silk, wheat, quino, milk, cysteine and they all worked bc my hair had holes/damage. Now for my low porosity hair, they all build up, cause brittleness and block moisture. Keratin is the only one that penetrates my hair, provides moisture and strength. Hydrolyzed wheat is humectant and pulls moisture into my strands but provides strength only on the surface. It can build up quickly for me.

Minimal Assembly which keratin deep conditioner do you use? Recently I was watching an Ask Dickey video and he said Keratin is the only protein that actually benefits the hair. Would love to know which one you recommend.

I'm two months in natural and i thought i had my hair care regimen down but now i think i have product build up but my curly hair is unmanageable, dry, frizzy, it's just ugh. i've been using the shea moisture coconut and habiscus line and it's been great at first but now i see a change in my hair and i hate it! i thought the shampoo was cleaning enough but i never knew there was a "moisturizing" shampoo and a "clarifying" shampoo. I am just learning about hair porosity hair care. I know i have low porosity. I'm not giving up until i have beautiful big curly hair! thanks for the video! i'm subscribing!

Gator Nunez I have low porosity hair too and I hate shea moisture like every single product except the Jamaican black castor oil line she showed. Also what I've been using lately is Aussie moist and I like in my hair a lot , especially when I heat up the conditioner

Jazmin Jordan what shampoo, conditioner, and stylers do you use. I have been on my journey for an year and a half. I had the last bit of my damaged hair cut off in September and have been struggling with low porosity. Lucky me my hair isn't damaged but now I have no clue what to use help!

I have just done the big chop, a few weeks back, I am not having any luck with my 4c ( 4 please!) hair, I stopped using the store bought sprays to dampen my hair, using filtered water instead, I didn’t know previously about the correct order to seal in moisture , I do now, but my hair is still so dry, it feels like the oil is just sitting on top, I have to wear a shower cap when I’m indoors at my house because it becomes even dryer in an air conditioned home, I’m using silk elements cholesterol for dry weak hair, ( palmers protein pack on occasion), Creme of nature argan sulfate free shampoo, I recently have been switching between two or three moisturizers pantene gold series hydrating butter creme, Shea miracle moisture intense leave in and palmers cocoa butter and biotin cream styler, also a mix of black Castor rosemary, coconut/avocado oil to seal, there is a never ending supply of hair moisturizing products , most are in my bathroom but my low porosity hair Is just not absorbing anything,I just took off my shower cap a few minutes ago because the damp feeling under there gets annoying, but it has already dried back up again, so I have to put the shower cap back on again. To tell you the truth I think it’s the area I live in now, I had no issues living up north because there was no air conditioning and we left the windows open, except in the winters of course , then I moved down south where if you leave a window open you will get flamethrower heat circulating through the house, my hair was past my shoulders when I first came down here, then it became dry and hard to manage, started to break off horribly, all different lengths , products I had been using for years no longer had the same affect. Now I’m worried that the chop was in vain, still seeing the same breakage in my very short hair and the dryness is insane, feels so coarse

My sister and I have Low Porosity hair, and we were just talking about this, this morning.
