Ah UCSD. I remember being a student there. There was a nonprofit group there trying to get students to register to vote. Mind you, I was not political at all back then. I signed up and marked "no political affiliation" and got berated by the so called volunteers and asked if I was voting for Obama.... I said "I don't know, I haven't looked into the candidates yet" and they replied "oh, so you're not voting for him because he is black"..... and I said "are you only voting for him because he is black?". Good to know they are still fostering tolerance on campus......

They are not considered "equal", though it's based on cultural ways whether it's right or wrong, thats how they live. Israel was about the same about 70? Years ago it slowly shifted. Israel is still based on religion laws, just like Palestine.(such as no civil marriage, only religious leaders can approve).

They're legal adults, first of all. Secondly, studies is not always the main responsibility of students. There's something called life and sometimes it gets in the way. If people feel the need to protest is important enough, then who are we to say otherwise? That's why speech is a right.
How can you claim the police are the aggressors when you are actively chasing them down and they keep retreating? By any legal standard, that makes the students the aggressors.

It is funny that the reporter was saying " Students do not know whey the police are here. The are peaceful protestor" I can see how throwing water and taking away the plastic barriers, are very peaceful.
These protesters and their ilk are nothing new -- they are flushed with self-importance, take themselves much too seriously, and don't have the standing or prestige to go around demanding this/calling for that in the first place. I remember their kind during the Vietnam War. They are to be pitied.

I support the freedom of speech that leads to progression (Think Martin King, Women's right to vote, and the fight for LGBTQ, but none of the protests escalated to this level of extremism) The cause of this war is hatred. We need to fight hatred, not create more chaos and racism, which is another level of violence.
I can't even count the number of videos I've seen of these students absolutely terrorizing and intimidating various of their fellow students. Not non-violent. It's terrible.
