Today I show off my new Proto 2000 Pennsylvania HH1 2-8-8-2 in action! I installed a loksound 5 decoder and added a few custom sounds into it. Along with it, my Sunset H9 and two BLI I1sas make an appearance. Enjoy!
absolutely, theyre one of the best detailed money for value engines money can buy! very affordable ($180-200 range) for a silent running extremely smooth, very well detailed loco. Just note that its a bit light and most of the details are plastic (not metal wire) so its fragile. Everything i mentioned is true for all other proto steam as well.
@@trainman440 Thanks for getting back to me! I own one of their 0-8-0’s and 0-6-0’s (the 0-8-0’s my current favorite with the 0-6-0 lacking a little in the power department) but I thought I’d expand my collection. Just one more question. What’s the most amount of cars you’ve been able to pull with one of these?
@@BMMEC6000 Proto locos come with traction tire wheels if you find your engines to be lacking in power. the 2-8-8-2 can pull around 40 cars with no sweat. It could probably pull more but my layout isnt big enough
@@richardjayroe8922 thats a hella steep grade! i dont have any track close to that to test on. ill just say this, its a decent puller, for a plastic engine with no trac tires. Make of that what you will.
