As a follow up to my DJI Goggle Integra "Pro" video: • HOW TO MOD ALL ANTENNA...
Well... I sent it as far as I could. The main hindrance wasn't actually signal, I still had enough to play with as long as I flew in the correct direction. The battery life was almost half up and it was time to go home.
-Around 1:39 I was messing with goggle settings while in flight. The mbps was making me uncomfortable sticking at 25 ~ 30mbps, so I checked settings and just changed it to manual instead of AUTO.
-You can see as I get to the 3:20 4.85km mark I start to feel and poke around for more signal. I started to go the wrong way and dipped as low as 5mbps, I then turned the other way and instantly got signal again. The farthest I went in this test was 5.74km, and the entire trip travelled was about 14km, using up just under 3000mah when returning to the home point.
I could probably try to go further with a 6000mah battery pack next time! Still waiting for it to arrive in the mail....Maybe it's lost!??
I would have to say this test is a success though, because the farthest I could ever get with a stock O3 antenna and stock Integra goggles was 3.5km, where it really looked like signal wanted to die any moment, and using a longer O3 antenna by Flyfish RC, the max I could still get was 3.8km until it really wanted to die, but I'd admit the locations I tested this at the time was not entirely optimal, such as with a tree line 250 meters away and a more urban environment. At least this test has proven to me the goggles Integra w/mods do still work and behave normally like NORMAL goggles with mods. XD I even tested my goggles integra "pro" set up on a proto25 with flyfish RC O3 AU style single long antenna. I went 4.39km and again was limited on battery life and had to turn around. Although you can see the inefficiencies since it was LHCP to linear, the mbps would drop up and down every few seconds after the 4km mark, but still I was confident to proceed if I had more battery XD
So yeah, Go put whatever matching quad to goggle antennas you want on there and SEND IT! After all. This is FPV, and thats what makes it FUN. Enjoy.
