I wasn't paying attention and YT auto fed this to me. I was like what the hell is this? It's kinda awful (don't hate, I love Joy Division and JD sounds even worse 😂), but there is something that kept me listening. I'm on my second time through now. Viva La Protomartyr! Joe R People who like music just because it's complex, high quality and requires skill are superficial imo, you've got to remember that music has an emotional story behind it. Protomartyr's instrumentals and skill are reasonably low. But the feeling they evoke, the weight of the notes, that's what matters. They have a unique story behind their sound, more than any Van Halen, Mariah Carey or John Coltraine copy-cat will ever have.
