There's been a lot of presentations of the most exciting SUV to hit our shores. Great attractive price, fantastic packaging, excellent performance, a real game changer creating a huge wave in the auto industry in Malaysia.
Now we are pleased to present to you an idea of how the X50 will perform up and down our favourite test road.
Please watch the video and see for yourself, but please do not attempt this on your own. The above drive was performed by a trained driver.

Oh my god I cant believe myself watching uncle YS Khong x50 genting run almost 10x. Uncle Khong you shoild come out with a driving academy where the laymen people like me can learn how to improve our drivimg skill😁 Love it!

I thought he's gonna slow down a bit when he said to be conservative at corner but after a few time comfortable tyre skids, I love it when he laughed at those corners with inches away from the wall. Great driving! Can see that he's having fun driving this car.

Watching this is like sitting in a rollercoaster, I can feel my body swaying from left to right, exciting and yet scary at the same time, wow wow wow.....salute to your driving skills...I hope no inexperienced drivers wl attempt to do this

Brake is hot, let's take it easy... going 80-90 downhill. For those that complain the center holding bar is useless, see how hard he's (passenger) grabbing the bar.

i don't think its useless but the bar is high enough to be hitting /blocking my knee when i was trying to open up my legs wider. It does give me a feeling of something interfering with the normal way i sit. Driver side is better since there is no bar.

@@heanluen i didnt go for the x50, cancelled it after i test drove a hyundai tucson 1.6T 2019 (test drive unit). Was offered about RM35k cheaper with a pretty nice plate number. I tested the x50 after i bought the tucson. I just don't like the vibration from the engine when i quick tap the throttle at low speed on sport mode. The x50 wet dual clutch is nice, but the vibration is a no no.

The X50 in Malaysia indeed is difference spec then Coolray in Philippines. I believe suspension wise Malaysia more on comfort and soft. Coolray on better side more regid and a little hardness which l like in term of better handling on corners.

Definitely, X50 is better. It is way better than Activa. I hope those are buying Activa do not be tricked by the techno jargonish nonsense of the car. Most importantly still the driving experience should be put into priority of buying a car.

Uncle u are really skillful & steady ... looking at you overtaking the car & reacting calmly on the sudden appearance of the dog...I find that the passenger felt a bit uneasy when you said that you are going to off the traction control...haha

Fantastic drive, Uncle YS!!! If the car is light & easy to chuck around corners, driving this fast, up & down the Genting Highlands road, any car will need the Anti-Vomit Warning System for the passengers.. Uncle YS I really love how you drive ur race line.. linear and smooth. I dun think ur average x50 driver can achieve the same level.. when attack the straight with such gusto and line the car to the corner.. aiya.. I am considering of paying to sit next to you.. nice la.. Ps.. the x50 is really capable suv... The engine is willing only the gearbox was design to be gentle.. it is fast mind you.. overall.. enjoying this vid.

@@YSKhongDriving thanks for Uncle review of the car, i been driving Peugeot all these while with their great handling and stability and now i have no regret in booking a Premium unit of x50 knowingly the fact it can match the Peugeot in terms of safety/comfort/handling. Tested the x50 b4 booking and i can say it really behaving like a Continental car........aka Volvo.

Ya, most passenger car the manual mode will be push forward up shift, pull backward downshift. Unlike the sequential gearbox in race car, in reverse way.

I watched several videos and the way uncle handling steering wheel not the same for every type of car. Some cars, you steer left right a lot when cornering. I wonder if it because of car's under/over steer(stability), speed or car's weight. And some cars you handle so smooth like silk. So cool! Wow!

Very observant. We use the steering to change attitude of the vehicle, sometimes to counter understeer, by inducing oversteer. Sometimes we meed to counter the steering if the tail steps out. I drive every vehicle according to its behavior, and adapt my driving to every car.

They are called OMG handles, at least here on this channel. A very useful item, and all passengers reach up to them automatically, without fail, usually by the third corner, max.

It seems to handle surprisingly tidy even with Uncle Khong pushing it hard. The only thing that's letting it down seem to be the tyres. I changed the UC6 SUVs on my X70 to PS4 SUVs and my goodness the transformation is intense and obvious. Maybe the X50 with much better handling could actually benefit even more from the better tyres. As usual amazing driving by Uncle YS Khong. Would like to ride in the car one day!

Uncle pick the nice line for uphill which I can tell from the way of entering corner and apex , Proton X50 looks stunning and powerful when cornering close to 70km/h on tight apex and even 150km/h on mid-high speed section , weight shifting looks good , if have better suspension system I guess will do even better.

I got car sick just by watching this video. Genting road is a steady uphill and then downhill drive. I'd like for uncle to test drive this SUV with steep up and down intervals like the Kimanis road between KK and Keningau in Sabah. I want to buy this car but I don't know how it fares with mountain driving.

This route we tested on is a mountain road. Slow down the video by 50 percent and you wont get car sick. Or just watch the first 5 minutes.

@@YSKhongDriving the road steepness in Kimanis road ranges from 20 to 30%. Wikipedia said, it's the steepest road in Malaysia. Last I was there, We had to go at least 3 steep incline hills when going up to the Krocker's Range in Keningau. What's the steepest one you had in Genting?
