Ive been watching few x90 reviews from different channel, both in bahasa and English. I must say Paultan's channel always deliever with Hafriz as the host. Really like your style, in depth review and seamless way of presenting. Kudos Hafriz
the amount of times "Geely" was mentioned when reviewing the design is downright cynical. I don't recall Daihatsu or Toyota being mentioned all that much when they are reviewing Perodua cars which are rebadged Toyota/Daihatsu models. so Perodua gets all the praises but Proton all the sarcasms for doing the same things, ha? we get it, it's a rebadge and Proton is 49% Geely now. can we move on already?
Love your presentation hafriz shah. Very honest and straight forward. The use of language is simple yet deep and sometimes slight humour (or may I say a lil sarcastic😁). Keep it up hafriz. U're my favourite
Hey Hafiz, I must say, I have always enjoyed your review on cars. Especially on Proton cars. I find the X90 very good and impressive. Love what Proton did with the designing of the car. Especially with the front grill. Overall I honestly think the X90 is going to turn heads around when it gets officially launched.
I love on how it can fold down the back and middle seats thus provide a massive space. Trust me its really convenient when you want to move house or visit IKEA..
Watched almost all reviews from local reviewers, and I find myself wishing the bench seating of the Premium can be made an option on the Flagship. That would be the dealmaker for most people with the budget for the Flagship. Well, for me at least.
And still no memory for rhe power seats ? Thats so stupid what is the use of having power seats qithout memory function? For a 1x setting a Manuel seat will do. The only good thing about power seats is the memory function
Hi Hafiz, I read your comment and yr preference for a 40/60 long bench at 2nd row. But I think Proton should still at least offers a very unique 33/33/33 individual seating configuration in one of the Variant, especially if X90 is marketed as a comfy car, we all know sitting in the middle seat is so uncomfortable and this unique 33/33/33 individual seating configuration will solve this problem and provides comfort to all three passengers at the 2nd row. This unique 33/33/33 individual seats configuration should be a selling point for X90, it stands out and not found in other cars in the market. There are a lot of customers looking forward to see this unique 33/33/33 seating configuration in X90 but only to be disappointed to see the common 40/60 long bench found in all other car... no wow factor here ...
I get the appeal of the 3 individual seats, I do. But, in a broader sense (pun intended, ha!) more customers would prefer the bench in Malaysia. Most use case for a car like this here will not utilise all three seats in the middle row, so it makes sense to compromise three-wide comfort that will rarely be used in favour of a more comfortable bench for two that will be appreciated far more often. And for Proton to offer another seat config (making it 3 total) in a different variant just would not make economic sense. Especially for one that will have limited market appeal.
I agree. As an owner of a Ford S-Max. There's nothing like the 33/33/33 seating in it. Too bad Ford in Malaysia sucks so bad we can't get the S-Max anymore.
@@hafrizshah4937 agreed. And if I may add, the reason why proton might've went ahead with a 60/40 split is cause if they are transporting 3 people at the back, it would make more sense to place the 3rd person at the 3rd row for better comfort for all 3 pax. Plus, another reason for the 60/40 could be that the Malaysian family size averaged at around 4 people per household, so 33/33/33 just doesn't make any sense.
140k for the flagship. People will get x70 instead of x90 unless they require the space.. but spec wise, i do prefer x70 except the new engine on x90 is better.
Estimated is 150k for the flagship. I think at this price point I’d honestly get a pre owned cx8. I’ve had problems with the seats of the x70 as I feel they really lack the support. It might fit others well, but for me it’s a deal breaker.
I think its still depends on what people need. Bigger family would love to have bigger car and more space. This is the car. Plus you have the latest features and better engine.
@@aku1031 yeah.. have same issue with x70 boot, looks bigger but cannot accommodate the needs of small family for travel. Thats why i said, the people buy this who prefered the luggage spacd they need. Just wonder the price, hopefully not sky high over x70.
@@IM-kk3jq 150k ok la for flagship i guess. They need to maintain the below price over the other competitor.. CRV new model is coming, innova zenix coming.. if x90 price for high spec at 160k, i do prefer take the current crv or peugeot 5008 cost around 180k.
The EMS is a big boost to power and fuel efficiency as the X70 & X50 are known to be high consumption relatively. Nice design and NDH but sadly if only the Premium 7-seater had the huge sunroof. Price estimate for flagship is RM148K.
Proton memang kedekut ADAS system. Segmen B Proton mcm Persona & Iriz pon masih belum dapat sistem ADAS. Perodua boleh je bagi dekat segment A & B diorang.
why compare to the old "new haoyue" instead of the latest haoyue L? Not very honest there. This x90 is exactly like x70, 2 gen behind the CDM version, very lousy effort from proton.
Why not? This car is originally cheaper. also proton cut cost at many parts already. And it bears the national car title, but sold more expensive then it's counterpart in another countries.
Spec wise it's pretty good (flagship variant) at RM150k. I get the pilot seats for a more premium feel, but I don't get why Malaysia not getting the latest model. It's not like the new facelifted price increase another 10k which is not justifiable, right? If Proton is going to launch a new 2023 X90, might as well launch the 2023 model! Launching 2020 model in 2023 just makes no sense to me. Just want to say thank you to your nicely done review Hafiz, cheers.
Thanks buddy! Covid certainly delayed the X90's launch schedule a fair bit and to be fair, the Haoyue in this form (but with the new rear design) is still currently on sale in China alongside the heavily updated Haoyue L. So it's not strictly a 2020 model, and at least we are already getting a newer version compared to most other models outside of China.
@@hafrizshah4937 That's something I'm curious too coz usually for manufacturing cost wise it makes sense to only produce the new model once it is launch and stop producing the older ones till stock last rather than having 2 production line. That's how other car makers do but it's just china still producing old and facelifted model side by side. It's kind of weird don't you think?
Actually There Are Some People That Working With The Infotainment System To Have Android Auto And Apple Carplay, You Can Watch A Video At Galeri Kereta Channel
As for me a mere village boy,the front grill is great almost too futuristic but the more traditional infinite weave will make their front grill more prominent and menacing
Hehehehe....7 seat Premium is gonna be my take, however, the three-cylinder engine chatter sounds VERY obvious, and ONE MORE BIG WORRY is HOW RELIABLE the Atlas OS is gonna support the Navigation system with BOTH the Android and Apple Carplay being UNAVAILABLE
Car makers can do better if the tax is low. We will continue to receive substandard lower priced cars bcoz of this coz the consumer spending mostly goes to tax
Hafriz, u were damn right Abt P1 , they should give some level of active safety features especially AEB as standard for all variants. Such a dick move Proton
X90 is more in line with other D segment SUV like the Fortuner, Sorento or the Santa Fe. All the cars I just mentioned is available as a 7 seater SUV. While Alza, on the other hand is a B segment MPV, totally not in the same category segment and body type wise. The closest competitor for Proton in the MPV market is only Exora, which is rumored to have an all new unveiling next year. So til then, Alza is the king in the MPV market in Malaysia.
malaysia always gets cheap spec due to the mindsets, i want good stuffs for cheaper pricing. Still proton lags behind the competitors; KIA, Hyundai are far more better. And the prices are set higher for the korean makers due to on purpose so that local products can sell their products.
Blue is my favorite but maybe I’ll blacking out all the songket dot LOL…the seats maybe I’ll change it with huoyue seat (forgot what the name is)..change the headlight etc.just create an Advanced Flagship variant myself 😝😝 P/S : I wonder if Hao Yue L gorgeous part can fit into X90😍😍😍😍
@@hafrizshah4937 I'll chose premium spec then. Better boot space if both rows can be folded. Will be needed if I buy something big from hardware or ikea. Thanks tuan for the review. The best review I've seen so far and I've seen a lot of reviews on x90.
@@efanzailani5780 inspira is Sedan C segment with 2.0 NA engine. 150hp 197nm. Weight 1300kg. Better power to weight ratio. X90 1.5 TGDI 177hp & 255nm with 1700kg. It just a mild hybrid with 13ps & 45nm.. Compare suv 1700kg with suv 1700kg, this engine still in good efficient fuel consumption
I have to say I agree with Proton's decision here. The 60:40 bench is far more comfortable for two adults. The three individual seats will feel very restrictive, they way they're shaped. Almost like plane economy class seats, somewhat.
But I want to seat 3 passengers at the middle row, and the unique 33/33/33 individual seating configuration will provide equal comfort to all passengers...and when just seat 2 persons, the middle seat can be folded down to use as an arm rest, or if alone, can even seat at the middle seat then you will have a great unobstructed front view ! Besides having individual seat at left/right will make entry to 3rd row a lot easier as you do not need to touch on the middle seat . This unique 33/33/33 seating configuration is indeed a very unique design and not found in other car, it should be a selling point for X90 and make it stands out among other cars. At least should offer this 33/33/33 individual seating configuration in one of the Variant.
