I wanted to buy a T8P but they have only black and white. So I look at X90 and I like it. T8P has some features X90 doesn't: memory seat, and double layered front windows, AAACP. But X90 has a lot more features: proper door handles in addition to those in T8P, proper front fog lamp, back fog (red) lamp, auto parking, hardware buttons for air cond and adjusting lamp heights, auto raining sensors, remote app which T8P doesn't have. T8P is only more powerful which I don't need. I also think many people don't need. I drove Xtrail 2.5 and X90 is already more powerful and more than I need. So less power can save some petrol and with much spacious interior.
Tiggo 8 daily (family) user here. Believe it or not, but I find it to be more fuel efficient than my previous Proton Exora. Generally we have to fill up the tank once a week, and using the Tiggo 8 Pro I spend around RM15-20 less. Happily content with the car (so far), a few problems here and there but it never detracts from our generally good experience of using it. For me, X90 wins in the 3rd row space as well as fuel efficiency (Like Aiman pointed out). That being said, we are currently having a blast using it as a daily commute - which means we are not among the 85% qualified to get the petrol subsidy I guess ?? 😅
@@ZOMUESA My parents managed fine, although my smallest kid struggled a bit. Like Aiman pointed out, owners do get a free electronic sidestep - for me it's coming but I do have to wait three months for it.
Well said on the ADAS, as a X90 owner, when I turn on ICC, it always make me more stress than I drive on my own, the sudden braking when car from either side came in front of you.
Great review and fair comparison.. both cars cater for different needs.. I ended getting the Tiggo 8 as i mainly use it as 5+2 and the interior won me over.. Fuel consumption is definitely higher and will make owners cry when subsidy is removed, but i do have another sedan for city driving.. The 2.0T on highway put a smile on my face every time when travel with family, especially to the highlands.. when Chery bring in the PHEV for T8 would be a different story..
As of september 2024, the X90, X70 and the X50 is the sales leader in their own class which is D,C and B segment. Cherry only manage to stir the market for a couple months before falling terribly.
@@YusufMDean Only by 0.4 percent compared to September 2023 With the addition of brands like Cherry, Gac, Jaecoo and BYD which is really2 good imo. Like i said, these Chinese brands can only stirred the market for the first couple of months before they start trembling down.
People want an exora replacement from proton. Instead got this 150k previous generation china car. Now the byd mpv is gonna steal the show from both of these. Proton getting more and more out of touch. Even an import car with massive excise duty can match and undercut its pricing
Great comparion! However, just a quick correction. The HVAC (air-cond) quick controls does bring up more settings on the main screen, but only if its not on Android Auto or Apply Car Play. However, of you are connected to Android Auto or Apple Car Play, u can swipe down from the top to bring the air-cond controls on the screen. Also, i love that you can swipe left or right on the line between the -/+ in the quick control to bump up/down the fan speed by 3 instead of jabbing at it multiple times to get to max fan speed 😂.
People's perception about Chinese car brands in terms of quality and safety needs to change. They are no longer the Chinese cars of the past generation. Most of them already invested in learning from other European brands and heck, some they even own (Geely owns Volvo for e.g.).
