Hey man, thank you for this video! I just upgraded to the Orion 32+ Gen 4 (from a Focusrite 8PreX), I work with Pro Tools as well. I seriously needed a jump start for the Orion routing software and this was just what I needed to get started. You rock! Cheers.
Really good tutorial on the Orion 32 and pro tools setup. I own the Orion 32 Gen 3. You gave us a bunch of gems on routing. I never knew the feature in Pro tools to commit the hardware insert record it in real time and used the hardware somewhere else in the session. That's a really good tip. I watched your other video on the Antelope Audio patchbay. Another great video. Thank you very much for putting out in depth video on these subjects. Your videos is a hundred times better than the Antelope Audio explanation on the patchbay. Thank you again. God bless
I'm wondering if you have any ideas to why Studio One is only picking up 24 i/o's using USB ? In the Orion control panel it shows 32 Line in and outputs, but only 24 Daw i/0. I tried changing the settings in the Orion control panel from 24 to 32 and it switches back as soon as I click it. I did use the supplied thunderbolt cable, but it had a usb adapter for the end of it. Do I need an actual USB cable?
Is there a track count limit if you don´t have an HDX card connected to the Orion? Can I go thunderbolt directly into the computer and get all available channels to the interface?
@@fadygergis do i need an HDX card to run pro tools with Its full track count or can i skip the card and be totally happy with the antelope Orión 32… are there limitations with this combo? I Hope I’m clearer and Thank you!!
@@fadygergis i probably won't be needing more than 32 I/O during tracking, I’m just wondering if there’s a limit in playback voices if I don’t have an HDX card in betweet the Orion and Pro Tools. I’m about to purchase my system so the question is if you recommend getting an HDX card or íf you find it unnecesary. And if you have any Issues with latency while tracking. Thank you!
@@fadygergis Thank you for the quick reply. I am am in need of more IO and I am currently using a RME Fireface UFX III. I am looking for options and unsure if using Ferrofish would be a good option. You have any suggestions on how I can expand the RME or do I need to start from scratch?
@@braxal6983 yes absolutely ferrofish the one that had Madi would be a great option to add more I/O they have one with 16 channels and one with 32 channels.
@@fadygergis You think there is any concern over the Ferrofish pulse 16 MX when it comes to the converters? It appears the Pulse 16MX has been on the market for many years.
@@fadygergis in your pro tools I/O windows I see 32 input and output . My pro tools ultimate with hd native is 64 i/o in same page . Would you please to tell me , when We uses orion 33+ gen 4 with thunderbolt , how much i/o is available on pro tools ? 32 or 64 ?
@@fadygergis so you can utilize the larger buffer size? Or are there compatibility issues with thunderbolt 3 from the Orion into a Mac that is thunderbolt 4?
