Prototype Meets Imagination: A New Layout Journey
Here’s what I’m going to cover in this video:
• Discover how Vancouver’s Pacific Central Station inspired the design of my new layout.
• See how I drew up a track plan that fits perfectly within my space, inspired by real-world operations.
• Learn how the West Coast Express trains influenced my decision to blend elements of Vancouver’s rail system with Toronto’s.
Longer Description:
In this video, I dive into the unexpected inspiration I found while researching Vancouver's Pacific Central Station and how it could influence the design of my new model railroad layout. While reimagining Toronto's Union Station for my layout, I stumbled upon the unique features of Pacific Central. This station not only fits perfectly within my available space but also brings in new possibilities for blending real-world design with my dystopian theme.
Join me as I explore the stub-end layout of Pacific Central Station, the adjacent VIA Rail maintenance yard, and how the West Coast Express trains, with their familiar Bombardier bi-level cars, sparked the idea of blending Vancouver’s architecture with Toronto’s urban landscape. This isn't about replicating a prototype exactly-it's about finding inspiration in the real world and transforming it into something that fits my creative vision.

If you found this video intriguing, consider subscribing for more content as I lean into creating more dystopian scale models. I'm figuring a lot of this out along the way, so it's always nice to have you join me on the journey and offer support, but more importantly, feedback! / @nscaledystopia
