Such an underrated game

Also the reason both mercer and heller cause shockwaves when they drop is cause the more they consume the heavier they become

So, both Alex and James, infected with the same virus, have similar abilities, and they're able to consume (a.k.a. absorb) enemies and people, and turn into the people they consume, getting their voice, appearance and even memories. That's a gameplay mechanic, as some missions will require you to consume a certain target to disguise as them and get access to somewhere. But the enemies will get smarter and will eventually start using devices to detect you if you're disguised.

My fav thing about this game is you can shapeshift to anyone you see in the gameworld

Ok..........wow.........not gonna lie I definitely did not expect Prototype xD but this is genuinely why I love your channel. You really do react to some of these hidden gems and it's wonderful. I remember playing both Prototype games and boy were they fun, to be able to play as the big bad (kind of) instead of being the one who defeats the big bad was quite honestly a great change of pace and was genuinely quite enjoyable. The story was not bad either so if you have the time do check out the story. :D

It's really cool to see the channel growing steadily. And Prototype man... It was the rage when I was at school and I recently went back to it...and man it was nostalgic as hell 😭😭😭😭

'We are married and we are in love.' Lol one video is enough for anyone to see the chemistry. First time my thought was these two are either a family, cool brother and sister, or the best couple in their neighbourhood. Just perfect.

Goddamn, the Prototype games were damn underrated, it's basically a fun sandbox destruction. And the protagonist Alex Mercer is also an underrated OP video game character due to his Blacklight Virus that is goddamn deadly, it can shapeshift in disguises or even his limbs into deadly weapons, and he has a rapidly cellular regeneration.

The game they made before prototype was hulk: ultimate destruction. They said in the interview that they liked that game so much, they wanted to make it again, only with an IP they could own.

The story was much better in Prototype 1, he had a reason to fight and in Prototype 2 it was a disappointment to see the protagonist of 1 as the villain in the 2 and know that he had to kill him

i like both mercer and heller one thing i love about heller is just how badass he becomes when fully upgraded same thing with mercer

We need remake of Prototype 1 and 2. These are unique and very enjoyable games. They give us freedom to fight and travel. In short, you can go crazy. Throw cars, jump high, etc.

Ah prototype a good game and well Alex used to be the head scientist for black watch but he became aware of there evil deeds and decide to flee with a sample but he was caught and he dropped and the outbreak happened. Afterwards he woke up not remembering what happened and he was kind of anti hero but in reality, Alex mercer died when he dropped the vile and the squad killed him and the virus basically took his form and memories believing he was actually Alex himself. At least that’s how I remeber the story going. There are also comics explaining his journey into him becoming a villain aswell.

Ah, prototype was part of my childhood growing up! Also, this channel has gone far. 😊 I was here when it had only 44k subs I believe? Now it has 200k! Well deserved. 😊

Prototype 1..Mercer lost his memory and didn't even know he's the bad guy at the end... Prototype 2 Mercer trying to 'recruit' people by giving some of his power and ended up recruiting wrong person...lol

Prototype is a banging game so repayable the second isn't the best Imo also imo the claws are the best weapon in the game before you get the blade

This was a slight blast from the past. It is a mildly interesting game that was fun free roaming around. Reminded me of the old PS2 Spiderman 2 game, being able to roam around as a super powered person just wandering the city.

Yes prototype series ,now this was, truly incredible games, loved the gameplay and the insane abilities. And Alex mercer being fantastic too. Keep being awesome

Great reaction Prototype is one of my favorite games growing up still is. I would definitely recommend the resident evil triple impact trailer(trailer for the operation raccoon city,imo opinion a decent game but not everyone’s favorite but the trailer is awesome) also I’d recommend the BioShock cinematic trailers (they’re all great but my favorite is BioShock 2 cinematic trailer)

Prototype 2 is still to this day one of my favorite games.

God I remember seeing the Prototype 2 trailer for the first time and hearing Johnny Cash for the first time with Heller going through his memories and having it have such an impact on me, I immediately went to go check out Johnny Cash songs after hearing and buying his rendition of Hurt and ah man memories of good ole days

That live action Prototype 2 trailer is one of my favourite game trailers of all time. Insanely well made, but also emotional. Unfortunate that the game itself didn't have nearly as compelling a narrative. Still a really fun game though.

I never got my hands on the sequel, but I LOVED Prototype back in the day. It kind of has the open world sandbox feel of something like Sony's Spider-Man for PS4, where you generally have free range over the city to tromp around on your way from mission to mission. Big difference is that while my memories of all the story points are fuzzy due to how long ago it was that I played it...you're really NOT a good guy lol. You're more or less what you would get if the Carnage symbiote was created by the Umbrella Corporation. The power fantasy of it is incredible though. You FEEL like an unstoppable murder machine lol. You definitely have your own story, trying to figure stuff out and work through the situation...but the big fun of the game is just the raw mayhem and how much of a beast you get to feel like once you've unlocked some of your upgrades and are facing down hordes of monsters or heavily armed military strike teams (with tanks and choppers included). Something about the concept of a being that can just rapidly morph its body into whatever it needs to deal with any situation is just super cool to me, and Prototype is one of the few games that properly captures the idea of spontaneous guided evolution. Kinda sad it's been left so far behind now...a game like this on current-gen hardware could be just amazing lol.

Possible spoiler: Basically they were planning a purge on all the scientists who helped develop it and Mercer had a feeling they were going after him, so he took it as a form of insurance. But they cornered him at a station so he threw it on the ground. This is a rough explanation so if someone wants to extend in the replies, be my guest.

I recently relocated this game on Steam and gave it a go again, even now the first game is still a gem and the power fantasy it gives is just as epic as it was back then. Just play it a little, u'll love it.

Trying to blend in and/or terrorize the city as Alex Mercer on the hardest difficulty is outrageous but even playing on medium mode makes you feel like you are getting thrashed such a golden game I miss this so fondly and never got to play the second one

the song is by johnny cash its called (hurt) and its a very emotional i think its about losing the person you love and i can see that he loved his wife but losing her was the worst thing that ever happened to him because i lost somebody too my grandfather or my paw paw on Dec.19, 2020 and when i got home from the funeral i started crying alot hes was a singer and father and grandfather he died from a heart attack and he was my friend and my grandfather i was supposed to get his keyboard but my selfish aunt gave it to my cousin without asking my mom or me it was very selfish of her and i can forgive her but i will never forget it and my grandfather left me with his legecy and i intend too live my life as he lives his in Heaven (in the memory of my grandfather 1943-2020

Ken and Bethany, I only have the second version of this game for playstation 3 and it's a very good game with a well-elaborated story from the first game. I've still been looking for the first version for over 3 years to buy, but it's hard in an inner city to find a game like this.

actually no prototype 2 takes place right after the first game the second trailer you watched is from the second game but it recaps the first one

i loved both games interesting the first one you feel your playing a borderline sociopath at best a anti hero and you definatly feel more and more like a monster by the end

This game was and still is the coolest one I've played in my life! So much nostalgia with it. It had huge potential for a new Prototype 3 game but they scratched it and I will never forgive the publisher Activision for shutting down the studio...
