My two takeaways from this episode: I agree that the Theodore looks better with an in-your-face finish. I vote for sparkles. I'm a sucker for the Apex volute. Can't help it.
I hate this, but I've had to stop watching recently. I know you're doing well with $ and collecting pieces for a museum, but I'm mentally disabled and on a small, fixed income. I'll never ever ever be able to afford any of these....I used to enjoy the window shopping but it has become embarrassing and a contributor to my depression. Like pulling up next to a Mercedes in my busted up Kia. I used to joke that I'm "forever on an Epiphone budget!" but sheesh, I can hardly afford those anymore. Any chance you can do some shows from time to time on sub $1000 guitars??
@@spinnywise lol, and successfully remove what little joy you have left in your life. Sorry I thought it was funny cause I always make myself a cup of joe right before I sit down to jam.
Agreed, I've owned plenty of Gibsons . Les Paul's ,V s, SG s, The most I ever paid was 1200. These prices are ridiculous. I played all mine professionally. Not just collecting stuff.
Really love the Vaquita Blue finish. Reminds me of some of the bursts Danelectro were doing in the 90s. Maybe it's just me but it doesn't seem like there's much in between with bursts. They're either nice or horrible. 🤷♀
Hi Trogly. I couldn't help notice that your "Gibson UK mod shop" guitars had information in french and prices in Euros (€) yet when I go online I find the information in English and the prices in Pounds Sterling (£), are you sure you haven't got the two mixed up? 🤷🏻♂
The 1st guitar, split decision, 👎. I don't have a problem with 2 different grains. But, come on guys in the mod shop. You have put out some gorgeous guitars. Those 2 colors together don't fly for $4,400. Just my opinion, uglier than homeade sin. 😅
I mean Mustaine stuff is okay, but I’d love to see an artist work with Gibson on a unique shaped guitar, like St. Vincent (aka Annie Clark) did over at Music Man. Imagine if the Theodore was actually a new artist signature and not an old drawing.
They definitely gouge but it wouldn't make any sense for them to put extra work on guitars that actually make them higher in value because they're all one offs in one way or another. That's why The greedy folk watch The mod shop so they can buy and flip almost immediately after purchase
@@frankwebster9110 Not sure you can flip those guitars after purchase. At least here in Europe, I fell like the only one guy buying them (after very close inspection of Gibson published photos because some guitars have very ugly flaws like scooped fretboard sides or butchered binding). By the way, the Blue Theodore is killer. Except for the small ding near the middle pickup, it is close to perfect.
I like a poker chip on a Les Paul guitar. I don't know why, i just do. What do you think about the Vox Mark VI teardrop guitar played by Chris Butler from the Waitresses i think You should do a review of one if you get a chance.
That transparent purple quilt. I don't think it's black on the back side, I think it's more of a dark brown back, you should check on the contrast again.
I hate gibson mod shop. That's their idea of experimentation. Forget revoloutionary designs and ideas. Stick to the old designs and give them silly colors
man i'm tellin' ya... all you need to do is get the Theodore in the right person's hands and it's gonna be the new SG! they can do anything with it. put a Floyd on there too, while you're at it.
I am 100% certain Trogly is color blind to some extent, calls an obvious surf green ,a blue, even when they tell you its a green. and then says the purple quilt top has a black back when its a deep red without even needing to adjust the brightness to see
Or, hear me out, he does it on purpose. Think about it. If he says the colors are what they are, nobody cares or notices. But if he makes some slip-ups here and there, people like you feel the need to comment about it, thus driving up his engagement and growing the amount of comments. Not saying that’s exactly what’s happening, since some of these are reasonable. However, it’s a practice both common among modern content creators and sound in logic.
one pick up les paul custom non solid color finish is the building process very different than normal les pual custom, because no neck pick up and nature wood finish, so need to cut the neck and fret board first ?? the body and neck joint area need to be cut very accurate and 4 side of surface fully contact for neck and body joint together?
