Believe it or not back then archers were crazy good like the type shooting through the eye gap of a helmet knight I am not joking they also learn to quick draw their bow like wild west type shit while also shooting like a semi automatic gun this is not an exaggeration by the way
@@Alecxzsander19 Loosing arrows quickly was done, but you wouldn't get much power being generated. It would only be for very close call situations. If you look at archer's of the Muslim world, you will find that they tended to also carry arrows in their hands so as to load another quicker than having to pull it out of their quiver. The Mamluks, Janissaries, Turco-Mongols of Central Asia, etc were all user's of this style. They also drew the bow string with the thumb draw and not the Mediterranean draw, which requires you to use three finger's.

Fun fact: the techniques in this movie are actually somewhat forgotten archery techniques that slowly died as archery stopped being used in war. Archery we usually see in movies is basically just tournament moves. In war, archers would hold multiple arrows in hand while pulling so they can just reload without fiddling with their quiver. They could curve arrows, rebound, and rapid fire.
As an archer, that is the worst grip I’ve ever seen, if you are right handed then the arrow goes on the right side of the bow for support, if it’s on the left then that arrow is flying off to the side

I haven't seen the show but I can tell from the short. The Long Bow takes time to load and fire. But the short bow is faster, it is powerful in shorter range. Mongolian uses short bows for rapid hit and run tactics
Realistically breaking the tip off an arrow before your enemy shoots it at you isnt gonna do much except probably cause the arrow to give you a bigger injury it still has the same power because its drawn back and when a cracked and damaged piece of wood hits you with that much force its gonna splinter and break more
"Save a second on the reload"...changes the quiver to behind the back, further from the bow, re-adding the second. "Relax your grip"...changes absolutely nothing about his grip. Archers held the arrows in their drawing hand to achieve speed, not drawing each from a quiver. Also what the heck is firewood and why does it sound like a starwars blaster? It would have been so easy to make this scene just as artistically impressive if not more so by remaining realistic.
