Hey Steve love your work. Extremely insightful. Watching indie developers conversion rates in your videos & also in apple benchmarks, made me realise that my own conversion rates are awfully low(0.7% - 1.2%). Maybe you would like to make studies on what makes a product page convert better or common mistakes? Now that I've been studying it, it seems a lot of apps like to keep their product page clean, and have just 1 screenshot, except that just text or social proof, which is so counter intuitive because I'd expect that more screenshots would help people understand the app better, but I don't know maybe people just like the cleaner pages more.
Great content. How do you move an app to fully free, to either soft or hard paywall? What do you do with existing users who have been using the app for free for a while?
Great question. Only show it on first open during the onboarding process. However, if someone deletes your app and re-downloads then they’ll be hit with the hard paywall.
