Here is the troubleshooting I did in our provision refrigeration system #ETO #marineelectrician #leckyjake #refrigeration #evaporator #seaman #seafarer
Salamat Po!Keep in mind my friend that as ship's ETO to deal with refrigerators and A/C IS NOT YOUR OBLIGATION OR JOB!!!Where is your engineers?Scratching the ases in ECR perhaps?Let them do their job where a refrigeration systems is one of their duties!
It depends on the situation on board. Sometimes you have engineers who are so helpless... Better to do it by yourself to be sure that job is done and nobody gives you extra problems when doing some shit there. Sometimes you knowleges much better than your team in this area, and if people on board are good- better to help them) But if there are lazy stupid motherfuckers- of course send them to do their job))😅
Your videos are the most simplified and well explained. Keep posting such. It has been a great practical knowledge booster for many of the youngsters like us😊👍🏻
The refrigeration mechanic who has to deal with real problem will thank you later👎 this will mislead him very nicely to find the root cause of The problem, a word of advice, dont go turning/changing adjustments unless you are absolutley sure that is the cause of the problem.
Well I believe all refrigeration mechanic knows that. That is the main reason why it was the last part that was adjusted and I have waited for another day to see the behaivior of the expansion valve. After being sure about the main root, I have decided to do the adjustments. Vegetable room is running fine for a month now.
I think what @@sjefoekel6058 is trying to say is that any adjustment made on a txv has to be a precise one since txv is exactly that, a precise component. In this case, the initial superheat of the evaporator should have been calculated first (knowing the suction pressure and temp) to confirm that indeed the superheat is high due to a restricted txv. Then, calculate the superheat again after the 1st adjustment to see if it now falls into the proper range (normally between 5 to 8 degC). This last step should ensure that your superheat does not fall below minimum and risk flooding your compressor with liquid refrigerant eventually destroying it.
Hello leckay goo day! may tanong lang po ako sa reefer provision namin ang MEAT ROOM hindi mag auto start...pero mag auto stop naman? Pls. share your a good idea..
Kindly it would be nice to elaborate on superheat thing. First of all if the system was running fine before this problem happened and there was no work done on the TXV of veg room . So why to solve the problem we have to open the TXV more . As we know it has been set by factory before it was fitted as per requirement of the system. That clearly says that TXV should automatically open more as per the operational requirement. That means opening pressure due to the bulb sensing is not sufficient to maintain the superheat. Though the action solved the problem but I feel if TXV is malfunctioning then it needs to be changed so that it maintains the temperature in the previous setting of the TXV.
Risk to open too much is flooding back and damaging the compressor. However, at sea those TXV are subject to a lot more mechanical disturbance than on land.
Our Blaster Freezer room (-40C) frequently have icing on the floor (we have proper door with gasket and curtain strips but hot air from outside or products when we push the hot product into the room to freeze them). Our floor has changed to use PU to reduce icing and anti-slip yet still have this issue... do you have any suggestions?
Gmg sir saw ur vidio on no spare of txv.how to make. And troubleshooting for icing on evaporator.thanx Best regards Imran kazi 2nd engineer Teekay tanker ship mgmt.
in bitzer semi hermetic compressore, when we start it then temperature down -25°C.after then temperature reached -7°C and after again not reached to -25°C.so what can i do to solve this problem??
Sir good day po ano po cause of trouble at pwede gagawin sa Accomodation aircon po namin laging nag yeyelow ang evaporator side kaya mag trip ang aircon. Ang suction side pressure nya po normally nasa 0.4 to 0.5bars peru pag nag yellow na sya umabot nalang nang 0.10 to 0.12 tsaka mag trip.
Thank you for this video. I still have a question, how do you know the level of the refrigerent is okay? And how do you assess the evaporators on your meat and fish room are still good?
For the level, check your pressures, and on the sight glass you will see the level. For the evap of meat room and fish room, no ice to thaw on the grill and the temperature is in range.
So is the same compressor running all 3 rooms? I was curious on refrigerant level as well but did not see any gauge readings. Nice video. I would like to see a little more testing before your determination. Thank you. Im about to get certified but lack experience because of covid schooling turned to online.
@@SCAMATICS777 Its the same as a multi split system AC. no difference, dont confuse yourself with labels, look at what they are, just a pump cycle with switches and relays, oh and mini switches and relays (PCB's). easy as pie, a trained money could do this work. im living proof.
You can see the refrigerant level on the sightglass paced on the condenser unit wich should be at middle the liquid level. Furthermore the temperature from fish and meat room are both in range -18 °C, also you can see the refrigerante gauge from low pressure the indication should be about 1 bar or higher with one of the chamber are working, i hope this make sense and can help you.
On my ship an abnormal alarm came. And I went to see the alarm could not find cause of alarm. When I reset the motor and started. So what happened is again the motor tripped. Please suggest me what to do?
First which motor is this? Better check the winding resistance of the motor. Iine to line and line to ground with the supply cables disconnected in the motor terminal
Dear Jake, Icing on evaporator ,so you reduced the super heat by turning it into counter clock wise. Actually here, superheat was "increased". I believe it's done after turning the adjustment screw to "clock wise ."
Good day sir lecky may tanung po ako tungkol sa MGPS nmin dito, kasi may voltahi nman papuntang cells nya ang problima walang current reading sa or no current indicaes at ammeter. Thank you sir lecky isa narin po akng electrician sa barko dito sa cebu interisland lang muna sir.
Yeah low pressure. Because the TEV doesn't let enough refrigerant through the pressure will drop and the refrigerant will start to evaporate at low temperatures.
Could someone please explain why reducing the superheat reduced the icing on the evaporator coil? If the evaporator had high super-heat it's because not enough refrigerant was flowing through the TXV. Reducing the superheat is adjusting the TXV to permit more refrigerant into the evaporator, making more surface area colder.
I thought about this more and here's my theory. Someone let me know if there's another explanation. You have 3 systems sharing a compressor. That compressor running at a constant speed and displacement (ie pumping a constant cfm). The 3 evaporators are sharing the compressor's displacement or cfm. Each evaporator's TXV needs to deliver enough refrigerant to the coil so that refrigerant can boil and expand to raise the pressure in the evaporator's outlet, providing a required amount of refrigerant cfm for the compressor to take away. If the TXV isn't delivering enough refrigerant, the compressor's cfm demand will draw down the pressure in that one evaporator to a pressure low enough that the evaporator will be below 0*C and cause the condensation to freeze on it. By adjusting the TXV to permit more refrigerant to flow through it (ie, reducing the TXV superheat setting) that evaporator now has more refrigerant to boil and expand, offering more volume to the compressor cfm demand and to raise the pressure at the evaporator outlet. The evaporator's temperature is determined by its pressure. Now that it's operating at higher pressure the coil's temperature is also higher and above 0*C, preventing the condensation from freezing.
thank you for making very informative video -as you mentioned at the end waiting video regarding other problems facing on refrigeration ,keep doing very good work lecky
@@leckyjake thank u bro... My compressor is having mechanical type unloader, now it is loading and unloading frequently within a minut , so is it normal operation or abnormal ?? Compressor- Carrier 5H80
Hi Elect, thank you for the video, just curious if the vegetable room have evaporator pressure regulator since the piping is interconnected with meat and fish freezer? Means both suction pressure are the same. Provision compressors on this video is Bitzer / Sabroe open type.
Hi,, thanks for the vedio which is very usefull.. Lecky,, I have a same trouble which is Ice deposit on expansion valve. I have cleaned inside filter and run the system. But trouble is remaining still. Unfortunately , I dont have a spare one onboard ...😒
Hi sir I have one doubt my ship ECR remote control one problem 30 hour one bridge panel fail alarm coming, I am acc the alarm that time alarm is going ,Agin this alarm is come, last two day this alarm is come, how to find out sir please tell me
Hi! Lecky Jake good day to you. Elect I have a question maybe you can help me. My question is, what is the common caused or the problem of the Cylinder head and the line in Marine Refrigeration Icing?
Good job sir jake kaya pala nag ice build up yung evaporator ng chiller dahil d wastong pagset yung TXV..lage po ako nanonood sa vlog nyu sir.sana palarin gaya nyu po.
How we know we increased or decreased superheat by turning the screw.is there any marking for clock wise and anticlock wise for increased or decreased the superheat
Okay I love you videos but you do know you should mention to people if you take off a solenoid coil when it's energized that you going to end up burning up the coil
Thankyou sir very informative .. seaferer din ako passenger vessel mag isa lang din po ako na reefer dito ... upload ka din sir sa trouble ng chiller compressor
